@charliebjkyln You're foolish to believe that the negative ratings are from disgruntled employees. I, myself was an employee of PetPals Resort from 05 2011- 09 2011. I only left for school.I did not leave because I had any issues with the staff/mgmt nor was I bitter.I did this as a summer job and the only reason why I lasted that long (4 months-not long at all is cause I was disgusted at the false advertising/lies/treatment of animals) is because I bonded with the dogs/needed experience as I am an Animal Sci Major. You are absolutely foolish to mark off employee reviews as false and pay no mind to them when in fact these people (employees) are the ones that TRULEY know what goes on behind close doors. It's impossible for the customers of PetPals to know how their dogs are treated while they are away because they are only given a brief tour of the grounds/are there for only a little amt of time/not brought in the back. Of course everything looks fine from looking through the door windows to see dogs running around but in fact, PP operations/mgmt is horrible and PP writes false positive reviews posing as customers cuz of all of the negative reviews they receive and dont want to loose business. Don't you find it odd that PP has such a high employee turnover? It's because the business is horrible and the way they treat the animals are inhuman! They guarantee ac and one would believe that they follow through with this promise cuz the where you drop your dog off is air conditioned! I've worked there over the summer and the air was turned on less then i can count on ONE hand. It was only turned on when the weather reached 89+. AC was only turned on to about 75. Remind you that the kennel area is a HUGE room and is open to the outside connecting part. Turning on the air to only a min of 75 in this huge room takes HOURS for any heat relief to be felt. I did not/nor the dogs receive any relief from the heat because with 20+ dogs running around=MORE heat generated.Hotter dogs=MORE aggressive dogs=chances of dog fights increasing =YOUR dog coming home with bites&scratches (PP has a record for denying any such dog fights/blaming your dog for it's bad behavior & not covering ANY medical cost) I would be DRIPPING in sweat and constantly throwing water on my face. I'm not even covered in FUR. Imagine how these dogs feel. The only request I make of PP customers is to not board your animal here over the summer. The dogs do have a kiddie pool to sit in if their hot but let's remember that most dogs HATE water=will not enter the pool to get relief from the heat. We were encourage to spray the dogs with water but most dogs are terrified of water so spraying them only caused them to be stressed/run away/coward in the corner.PP also claims to not take certain dog breeds. Oddly enough, my time working there I've encountered a Pitbull and Rottweiler. Do you honestly believe PP would turn away any chance for money? The kennel/run areas are disgustingly unsanitary. Sure they're mopped everyday but its more along the lines of pushing urine and water around. the kennel where your dog sleeps at night ISN'T even mopped at the end of a dog's stay!Faux lambskin bedding is also advertised on the brochure-I guess a ratty chewed towel/blanket is considered lambskin bedding. The only request I make of customers is to not board your animal here during hot days (cats are okay because their kennel area is inside where the owners relax in ac while the dogs are outside.
