I've used R&R for the last two years to perform preventive maintenance on my heating unit. Both years I told the technician that the heater seems to frequently cycle on and off and had trouble getting the temperature up to the setting on the thermostat. This past fall the technician replaced the thermostat and the problem continued. Finally, the furnace stopped coming on at all a month after the PM. The ignitor was burned out. The technician replaced the ignitor but the furnace continued to frequently cycle on and off. The technician realized that a hot air sensor was faulty. Since he replaced the hot air sensor, the heating system has worked perfectly. I wish it had not taken over two years, a new thermostat and new ignitor to finally find the core problem, the hot air sensor. Must have been one of those tricky issues to diagnose, normally we're able to find it and fix it immediately. Could have been more than one thing happening as well.
