I went to SMS because of a mood disorder caused by hyperthyroidism, I was there 2 weeks. There is a lot of support by group therapy thru-out the day and some of the best nursing staff I've seen anywhere. The CNA's were better than average, too and I liked everyone. I really am grateful to this place for my life. The food is GREAT! My psychiatrist, Dr. Ortega, however, thought he would outsmart me over my thyroid condition but NOT. He wasn't very accessibe, either, coming in late nights and I learned, you have to demand to see the medical doc from the get-go or lose out.
but other doctors there impressed me a lot. Despite this doc, I would go there again, it was that positive an experience, overall.
