AT VCA Orchard Plaza it really depends on who you draw for a vet here. I took my two cats there for years and was very happy. The staff was especially nice. One day my male developed a problem and I drew a vet at VCA that I had not worked with before. He was given an ambiguous diagnosis - with estimates for a $700 procedure, just for tests to get started on the problem. I took him over to Bloom Valley Animal Hospital and he received a clear diagnosis and treatment plan for $139 the same day. The VCA vets must get paid on commission for the services they can bill. It's unfortunate for their reputation that this can result in very inconsistent service experiences for their clients. Most of the vets there are first-rate people.
