We've eaten at Japaneiro's at least twice a month for years. The hardest part of eating there is not getting carried away ordering. Between my interest in trying new things and my husband's habit of ordering his favorites, we've ended up with a full meal's worth of leftovers on several occasions. It's honestly just about the only place I've NEVER had anything bad. Even dishes that aren't really my thing were still interesting to try and highly edible.
I was in the mood for something new, so I went for the Crudo Sampler on our most recent visit. The presentation was beautiful, almost like a floral arrangement made of sushi. And better than how it looked was how it tasted! I even ate the tamago, which I normally can't stand. Theirs was actually good, with a light delicate flavor I didn't expect from past experience.
The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They're knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful when you're not exactly sure what you want. Combined with the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, a trip to Japaneiro's is a bit like visiting family. My only real regret is I COULD have tried it months earlier, but I was intimidated by the idea of ""fusion food"". I'm so glad I let my curiosity win!
Pros: amazing food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere
Cons: can be pricy, occasionally crowded due to the great food
