I've been a patient of Dr. Joshi at Summit Medical for 15 years. I have always been happy with his treatment and the staff. I had lost my job about 2 years ago resulting also in a loss of my medical coverage so I haven't been to Summit in 2 years.
Requiring several medications I had finally put together enough funds to call and make an appointment planning to pay cash and go in and get my RX refills which I planned to get through the drug company patient assistance programs.
On calling the office I was told by an extremely rude receptionist that Dr. Joshi had retired and they do not accept any patients paying cash, and would ONLY take patients with insurance. I believe her name was Roberta.
First off it was a shock to find my trusted doctor had retired, secondly why were no post card notifications at the very least sent out to alert the existing patients?!
And there was no reason for that woman to treat me so very rudely, I wouldn't go to Summit Medical clinic if they were the last provider on Earth at this point!
