Editorial review from Urbanspoon 10/21/2010

Having eaten Indian all over the world, and having read the reviews here and saw that 81% like it, I thought I would give it a try. The site looked good, the photos of the food were nice. The price point is HIGH by any standards for Indian food so my expectations were also set high.\r \r We ordered for delivery Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindaloo, Naan, and Vegetable Samosas - four staples by which to judge indian cuisine.\r \r We live within 6 miles and there was a mention of a $45 minimum for delivery which we were nearly at ($44 according to prices on the site, but $40 according to the man on the phone), so we switched the Vege Samosa for the Trio (Meat, Vege Samosa and Pakora). That brought us to $47, enough now for delivery.\r \r The food arrived more or less within the promised window, and was warm enough. However one package seemed to melt a hole in the top, making us wonder where it went.\r \r First bite of the Tikka Masala and my reaction was 'where is the spice?'. It was basically sweet, not spicy at all. Then to the Vindaloo, the mother of all hot dishes as anyone would know, and it was flat. The meats were good pieces, but again, where is the spice? We ordered them to be between Medium and Hot, thinking that should get it there, but not too hot in case they are the type to burn you a new one. In this case, they unfortunately must have been cooking for the 'American' palate for some time now, and are afraid of the spice. A stray hair found in one of the dishes didn't help the cause.\r \r Overall, I can see why people like it, it is good pieces of meat, the sauces are complex and accurate except the spice factor. So, know this before you order if you like spicy, and maybe this review will help. I won't order again, but that is because of my tastes. more
