This is a fabulous replacement of a longtime Burnside quickymart, and is well worth checking out. You are greeted by a butcher counter worth oohing and ahhing over, and if you're nice, you will get a taste of one of their excellent pates. The menu is, of course, meat-centric, simple and mouthwatering. There are a few seafood items such as mussels, pan fried oysters, and a fish or two, but it's primarily of the hooves. Perfect veal sweetbreads left me craving more. I had the steak frites, which will vary on the night, tonight of hanger steak medium rare. It was butter, melting in the mouth good. So good as to be memorable. The fries were lovely. My mates polenta was the tastiest I've ever had, and the steak au poivre ""bites"" were delicious. I kept looking at the next table's dishes, which all looked equally excellent, especially the braised pork. Desserts are few and good, and they have a full bar, which is a bonus for many. Go here, and love it.
