For mother's day 2008 ,my husband purchased a lovely day spa gift certificate worth over $300. My certificate was assigned an official certificate number and my information was recorded by the spa. They did not bother to notify me of their sudden closure, leaving me holding a worthless $300 gift certificate. I am most upset by the fact that this was my first mother's day gift and I was really looking forward to a relaxing day that will never happen. I am not sure of my rights as a gift certificate holder, but I have contacted a lawyer and will pursue this matter based on principle. It is not right to take money for services never rendered. They could have made an effort to contact all gift card holders on record, making sure that they didn't leave a wake of angry customers. \r

If you experienced anything similar to my situation I would appreciate hearing from you. If you are the former owner or management of this establishment, you will be hearing from me soon. I can't imagine running a business with such disregard for what is right.
Pros: Absolutely nothing unless you enjoy being robbed
Cons: They ruined my first mother's day. Need I say more?
