In October 2007 this so-called ""surgeon"" butchered my ankle. A growth of some kind (cyst?) appeared on my ankle so I went to this doctor. He cut a large section of skin out of my ankle to remove the growth. The result of this surgery was nerve damage and chronic pain. Two podiatrists said their opinion is that only a doctor familiar with the nerves of the foot should perform surgery on the foot area. Dr Fernandez showed no compassion when I returned to his office in agony, unable to walk or wear a shoe. I incurred considerable additional expense of treatment at The Wound Care Clinic at Doctor's Hospital and additional doctor's visits to podiatrists. Sixteen months post-op and I am still suffering chronic pain and plantar faciistis. My ankle will never be the same. I cannot wear shoes with a back so I had to also incur additional expense of purchasing shoes with open backs (clog/slide type).
