The river trail to the left of the parking lot leads to a great lunch/photography spot in the shade. Be aware that swimming isn't allowed even though there's a rope swing on the opposite side of the river. The police do enforce this rule. I wouldn't advise letting your two year old play in fast moving water with poisonous snakes and slippery rocks even if you don't end up getting ticketed. Don't know how clean the water is either.
Pros: beautiful, secluded, not many people on the trails
Cons: no bathroom, parking lot where there used to be forest/trails, much more family (stroller) friendly than I'd like
