This deli sits in a non-descript shopping center next to a Mexican market. Ohanyan's has been here for years and makes the BEST Armenian soujouk (dry garlic sausage) and basterma (Armenian pastrami made with fenugreek). They ship all over California, but here they slice the deli meats for you fresh instead of a vacuum packed bag. The soujouk sandwich is simple, but to die for with a fresh roll with mayo, pickles, mustard, etc. You get the idea. They also sell pastries, home made kufta (an Armenian stuffed meatball) and roejig - an Armenian candy made from grape juice and walnuts. Roejig was the inspiration for the aplets made by Orchard Farms in Washington (also an Armenian family). If you go to Fresno for Armenian supplies, there are only 3 stops: Ohanyan's Deli, Nina's Deli (who also sells Ohanyan products) and Hye Quality Bakery for cracker bread. Just say Hye!!!
