ok, i have been waiting for a place like this for a long time, and i was planning on spending some money on a nice evening for my anniversary. my wife and i chose krog bar based on an article in ""creative loafing"", but we were soo disappointed. the menu was overpriced, but i understand based on the location and atmosphere, it just makes the sting burn more because i dropped about $100 on poor service and quality. the server forgot 3 items that we ordered and gave us two items that we did not order. we spent $40 on a bottle of wine that came to the table with a screw cap and reminded me of something i picked up at a gas station for a frat party. the food was at best mediocre, the so called grilled artichokes were nothing more than some warmed over canned choke hearts. so our evening was kind of ruined and we left with a bad taste in our mouths. i emailed both of the head chefs via the krog bar website with my complaints and neither one of them ever replied. so, i will never go back nor will i ever recommend anyone to visit this establishment. these guys have too nice of a restaurant, too nice of a location, too nice of a menu, and too expensive prices to treat me like they did. avoid them like the plague!
