Although I grew up around the area, I was always hesitant to go to Ahi because it just looked cheap and ugly from the outside. A friend convinced me to go and to make sure to get the tuna tartar...and I've been hooked ever since. I go every week now ALWAYS getting the tuna tartar with the crispy rice. It is like an orgsm in your mouth. Everything else is comparable to Iroha down the street...nothing else really stands out as being bad... everything is actually quite delicious. The prices aren't that bad....The most I've ever spent is $40...which is pretty much on the low average for decent sushi. People do dress up but I've been there plenty of times in torn jeans and flip flops and gotten treated fine. Definitely worth the trip
