Booked a cruise thru this agency on 2/08, with Norwegian Cruise Line. Paid $800 deposit, plus the balance of $1350 7 weeks before scheduled deadline. We received a call from Norwegian on 11/16/08, stating that we never sent the balance before deadline, even though we faxed proof of payment. Cruises of Distinction never sent them the $1350. The cruise line said that the booking agency closed their doors, and if we didn't send the balance by 11/21/08, that they will cancel the cruise, and keep our deposit since we didn't make the deadline of 8/12/08. The bank cashiers check was dated 6/21/08, which more than met the deadline. Cruise of Distinction kept the $1350 and skipped town. From what I understand, over 100 couples have been scammed. It was Norwegian's responsibility to contact the booking agency when they didn't receive the balance of the cruise money. This lack of action discredits Norwegian cruise line.
