Cruises Of Distinction

First, the cruise lines do not "hire" a travel agency, they allow the agency to do business with them based on the proper accreditation the agency has. Unfortunately, when an agency starts to lose money, they can very quickly go downhill. There are several ways to avoid this problem, such as assuring they are members of CLIA or ASTA, ALWAYS paying with a credit card (so you have a way to dispute payments), and ALWAYS taking outside insurance coverage, like Travel Ex or Travel Guard. Lastly, please remember that the cruise lines cannot assume responsibility for your cruise - if the agency doesn't pay them, you cannot expect the cruise line to pick up the tab. And just an FYI - most other cruise lines wouldn't evn bother to see if you were still interested in travelling - they would simply cancel the booking for nonpayment. more

Do not use this company!!!! My parents booked a cruise with cruises of Distinction and they were to leave Jan. 4th,2009. The final payment was due by August 2008 and they paid by June 21st. Just about a week ago, Norweigan cruise lines called to ask where the balance was. Cruises of Distinction took their money and alot of other people as well, closed the doors and took off. Now my parents are not able to go on their 40th anniversary cruise and are out of 2300 dollars. I would not use this company or Norweigand cruise Lines because they hired this broker and they should honor any deals they made for them. Its a shame people work hard to save up for a vacation then be told that someone ran off with their money. Do not make the same mistake!!!!!!!! more

Booked a cruise thru this agency on 2/08, with Norwegian Cruise Line. Paid $800 deposit, plus the balance of $1350 7 weeks before scheduled deadline. We received a call from Norwegian on 11/16/08, stating that we never sent the balance before deadline, even though we faxed proof of payment. Cruises of Distinction never sent them the $1350. The cruise line said that the booking agency closed their doors, and if we didn't send the balance by 11/21/08, that they will cancel the cruise, and keep our deposit since we didn't make the deadline of 8/12/08. The bank cashiers check was dated 6/21/08, which more than met the deadline. Cruise of Distinction kept the $1350 and skipped town. From what I understand, over 100 couples have been scammed. It was Norwegian's responsibility to contact the booking agency when they didn't receive the balance of the cruise money. This lack of action discredits Norwegian cruise line. more

We have been using Cruises of Distinction for several years. They have always delivered as advertised. I shop prices for cruises and then contact them. They are always able to match or better the pricing I have found. The representatives I deal with are professional and cordial. We will continue to rely on them for our cruise vacations. The only thing we would like to see is for them to set up a web site and email access to our consultant. DAR more

we booked a cruise with 10 other couples and the cruise line cancelled and refunded our deposit but the travel agency still owes us all our money it's about 1100.00 per couple still owed not getting any satisfaction thru the trave agency......mr.richard smith and cindy dusseau more

THEY CANCELLED A TRIP ON EIGHT OF US AUG 8th IT IS NOW OCT 9th AND STILL AFTER BEING TOLD IT WAS DONE THEY HAVE NOT REFUNDED ANY OF OUR MONEY.TOTAL OF ALMOST 3000.00. NOBODY KNOWS ANY THING NOW, THEY DO NOT CALL BACK, THEY DON'T KNOW US...I WOULD RATE THEM A ZERO more
