Not for curly hair, they don't use all Aveda products 11/29/2008

Don't visit this salon if you have curly hair. The hairdresser was nice but insisted on straightening it, even though I said I never straighten my hair. She said she wanted to see the color and cut. When it dried up curly after my first wash, the highlights looked streaked with big clumps of blond (I had asked for high and low lights, but hairdresser said I only needed blond). I went back for a correction, but it still looked streaked and darker than before I had highlights, due to the lowlights put in to correct it. On top of that, no-one in the salon had a diffuser to dry my hair properly? What salon does not have a diffuser? Later on I learned that you need to cut curly hair dry, and the highlights have to be put in a certain way, and be made very fine not too look clumpy in curly hair. Both high and low lights should be applied to give curls dimension. If you want a curly cut, don't go here. Also: they don't use all Aveda products. I didn't know that was possible in an Aveda salon, but they used Redkin shampoo and haircare. The shampoo did smell nice, and I did like that the hairdresser did not apply any fixer in my hair, but left it natural and soft. Pros: Nice and clean salon, great station set-up Cons: Not a good color for curly hair more
