My Cat died of worms 1/15/2008

I cannot believe a licensed, experienced, professional veterinarian mis-diagnosed something so elementary as tape worm. I rescued a wild cat and was referred to Sandy Hill by a friend. I was very relieved that the staff was so eager to help. He got his frist set of vaccinations, a shave, a bath, a check-up, and nails clipped. None of the staff noticed or mentioned how emaciated he was, or his giant stomach, so I didn't give it much thought. Until he started throwing up worms. I took him back, and the Doctor stated "he has tested negative for fecal parasites, so his distended belly isn't something to be concerned about at this time, he's probably just fat, and what you saw in his stool was probably something he just ate and pased". The next day, I wiped one of the worms and took it to another vet, who then gave me some medication. But it was not enough, and it was too late. That poor little kitty suffered in agony with a ruptured intestine, and then died of internal bleeding. I hop more
