My husband and I consider ourselves somewhat picky when it comes to boarding our dog when we travel, as she is an important part of the family, but we're certainly not over the top in any regard. It really takes a lot for us to write a review but I wanted to get the word out about this facility. We have boarded her here twice and will never go back. The first time we were charged extra for twice-a-day feeding without being told upfront. They insisted they communicated this when we dropped her off but both my husband and I were present and it was never mentioned. This came out to be $35 additional when we picked her up. They also insisted we pay it literally before they would even go in the back to retrieve our dog. Since she seemed taken care of though we decided to give the resort another chance. The next time we boarded her was for a short overnight stay. She was in their care for less than 24 hours. As it clearly mentions on their website boarding is $30 per day for a medium sized dog. We dropped her off at 5pm Sunday and picked her up at 4pm on Monday. They charged us $60 total since apparently no matter what time you drop your pet off the first day they charge you a full $30. Not only was this never verbally communicated when we left her or when we made our reservation but again they refused to give our dog back until we paid the full $60. It was also very clear when we got her home that she was not let out that day by them at any time. We are extremely unsatisfied and will never use Wine Country Pet Resort again.
