A bike store that thinks it's too good for Portland people 8/2/2007

I've come across snotty waiters in posh restaurants, but July 31 2007 was the first time I ever encountered a snotty bike store salesman. My friend and I dropped by the new up-market yuppie bike store Cyclepath in the new gentrification zone around NE MLK and Russell. I said I was looking at frames on eBay, and asked if I could check a bike for size, and that I would buy components at the store (in other words, I wasn't asking for something for nothing, and I was being honest). There's nothing wrong with selling expensive bikes, but the attitude of the staff was ""we don't need people like you"". My friend is a local who really does spend money on components, shoes, etc. but he won't go there again, even for a new tire tube. This place is so un-Portland . Pros: Has some nice bikes Cons: Snotty attitude more
