We had my father at this facility for 6 months and watched him deteriorate to the point he didn't know day from night. We paid monthly to have his meds distributed to him daily and found out that they would let meds run out without notifying us, and they wouldn't distribute meds correctly. It wasn't entirely the med room's fault as they were understaffed and appeared to handle more tasks than meds only which is unacceptable. The facility manager was made aware of these issues repeatedly but failed to resolve the issue (she actually contributed to the problem by pulling med room personnel from their jobs). I also had suspicions as to why frequent ambulances were at Hearthstone. Patients that fail to get appropriate meds don't do well. During my Dad's 6 month stay he fell and spent several days in the hospital. I would attribute this to improper med dosages. After leaving Hearthstone my Dad greatly improved.
