Reminds me of Snake Oil salesman... 11/19/2007

In the deal I made with the salesman, I was going to get $16000 for my trade-in. I signed a paper to that agreement and we shook hands on it. The dealership had originally offered me $14000, which was $3000 below KBB value. The car was in excellent shape and low miles. I had spent 5 hours at the dealership on a monday evening working the deal and by the time I went to sign papers after 9pm, I was exhausted and did not pay attention to the numbers and the finance guy did not explain them either. Instead I got a 30 minute lecture on extended warranties.\r When I got home that night, I noticed that the paperwork showed a $14000 trade-in. I thought it to be a mistake, so I called back the next morning. I ended up on the phone with a very rude sales manager who basically told me, tough. I had signed the paperwork.\r Long story short! They switched the #'s on me, because I had told the salesman, NO way was I going to trade in my Volvo for anything less than $16000. Lesson learned! Make sure you know what you are signing and study the #'s. My car will never see the inside of Autobarn VW again and Im making sure to tell everyone, just how deceitful this dealership is. Pros: You can never go wrong with a VW Cons: Lowball trade in values, rude managers, deceitful salesman. more
