Yes, this place is expensive ($70/head with inexpensive wine and NO dessert). However, it's worth trying once. If you are a steak eater, you will appreciate the ""natural"" tastiness of a porterhouse and the way Luger's ages it. That being said, if you prefer different cuts (i.e. ribeye) -- you're better off going to one of many NYC fine steakhouses. Sides (creamed spinach and german potatoes are delicious). We were seated promptly and our waiter was a very amicable gentleman. I like that the crowd is a decent mix of locals, tourists, and non-Wall Street professionals (but yes, there are banker meatheads in the room.) Overall good experience but it's too expensive (and artery clogging) to go regularly.
Pros: Easy parking, friendly waitstaff, casual dress
Cons: Hard to get a reservation, expensive
