Pretentious Plex Doesn't Live Up to it's Hype 12/11/2005

This place is run with arrogance and ignorance. A higher class of patrons, no way. Just the same annoying people paying more. I've had to leave early more often than not because someone was kicking the back of my seat, and the staff does not look out for this. The "best popcorn in LA" was mostly broken pieces and unpopped kernels last time I was there. Carmelcorn? $3 for Cracker Jacks! Sausage Baguettes? A Hot Dog by any other name... The pre-show announcements are either unnecessarily verbose, pathetic attempts to be funny, or just plain awkward. The seats are feel like upholstered rocks, wider but not cushy. Have you ever actually tried to get a live person on the phone there? This is just a decent multiplex trying to be percieved as a premium experience, but they are not willing or capable enough to actually make it the best. Pros: No Commercials, Wider Seats, Big Screens Cons: Ugly Slides, Hard Seats, Lackluster Atmosphere more
