It is exactly as the sign suggests: ""A place where friends meet."" The soups are excellent. Vegan, vegetarian, and meaty soups are available. The sandwiches are wonderful (my favorite is the Caprese). My only beef is that it's a trifle expensive, but it's a neighborhood joint that makes their food from scratch so I'm not complaining.
I've never had a bad meal there. Neither will you. Try the lentil & brown rice if you're vegan, baked potato if you're ovo-lacto vegetarian, or the chili if you go the meat route.
