Saugerties is one of the antique centers of the Hudson Valley. In the middle of main street you find Cafe Tamayo. Despite its Mexican sounding name it serves first rate American cuisine using local product.
The atmosphere is delighful. There is a long oak bar that dates to the 19th century, and overhead are leather belts connected to a momtor in the basement that propel the overhead fans.
Definitely worth a trip!
