There's a good reason a crowd almost always gathers by the door waiting for tables (and take-out). Mandarin Gourmet may not be totally ""authentic"" Chinese cuisine, but people enjoy it. The ingredients are fresh, variety of dishes plenty, atmosphere is appealing, and service is prompt. Some dishes are on the greasy side, but that's typical with most Chinese food. My favorite dish is Kung Pao Prawns - quite tasty and best I've found locally. My only odd complaint -- it is often difficult to locate a bottle of soy sauce for your table.
Pros: quick service, attractive interior, decent prices
Cons: can be crowded, some dishes greasy, sometimes noisy
