Late afternoon after the midday service, we noticed a loud whistling in the house. After we searched around we eventually realized it was coming from the furnace. I switched off the power and the whistle stopped, but the furnace failed to relight when I turned the power back on. We waited waited over an hour but when no relight we called emergency and a visit was scheduled. Surprisingly the furnace suddenly started working again so we cancelled the visit. I cannot explain this event and everything has worked normally since, with no whistle. I'll let you know if we have a recurrence. Many thanks for the service you provide.
