This city's humane society is in need of a serious overhaul; they currently do not accept any animals to be adopted out... they will only euthanize within hours of receiving the animals. Reaching them can be very difficult, as they do not keep to the posted hours (which are limited enough already). Some of the staff were helpful and compassionate, while most seemed bitter and standoffish. The building itself is in sorry shape, which doesn't help the eerie vibe of the place. I was thoroughly disappointed; if Marietta can maintain such a higher standard of care why can't Parkersburg?
