My wife and I found a dying rat not far from this animal hospital--she had clearly been poisoned. We came in and asked the staff to euthanize her, because there was no way she was going to recover. The hospital doesn't normally treat wildlife, but to their credit, they immediately agreed. Even though we offered to pay for their service, they refused payment. Clearly, they just wanted to help this poor girl. We were very impressed by their compassion, and especially impressed that even though we offered to pay, they refused to accept our money.
