This quick little hot dog stand serves the best food in the world. It became a weekly ritual of some college friends of mine to visit this place every wednesday evening and say hey to George and get out hot dogs. The best red hots in Chicago. I grew up on Sammy's the little shack by the alley between Clark and LaSalle on Division. This place has the same red hots and fries that I remember from Sammy's. Red hots and those greasy fries skins and all. Don't ask for ketchup on your redhot or they may throw you out. Ketchup on a redhot must be a suburban thing. Second best place in town for dogs (Jimmy's on Grand & Pulaski is still the best). So good that we catered my ex-husband's funeral luncheon with Gene & Jude's Pros: Fast service, Great dogs, Best fries Cons: Long lines at times, People on cell phones, No coffee more

The sign says it all: Hot Dogs, Fries, Tamales, Pepsi. Mustard, onion, relish & peppers. That's it. What more do you need? Gene's and Jude's supposedly has their own exclusive molds at Vienna for their red hots. They're simply the best. Pros: Super Dogs, Fries to die for, No ketchup Cons: Too far from home more

Classic place to get red hots! 8/15/2002

This place has been through multiple floods and still maintains the absolute best ""rubber dogs"" out there! This place is amazing, as there are ALWAYS people lined up, and they only offer hot dogs (loaded is mustard, relish, onions and peppers) with some of the best fries out there incorporated into the hot dog!! You can get a double dog as well, plus more fries or a tamale, but other than drinks, thats it! This is also not for the weak-kneed.. no chairs, just stand and eat your food, so snobs need not enter!! Pros: Food, Prices, Parking Cons: Crowds, no ketchup! more

You can find the greatest hot dog in the civilized world and the freshest, best tasting fries in existance! What a gem! Gene and Jude's has been a regular stop for my family since 1963. This location has the perfect product, service, price and PARKING, that you can imagine. No frills here, no ripoffs! Just great hot dogs the way they are meant to be served, ""WITH FRIES"". Very reasonable prices and an ideal assembly line of service. Each wait person takes your order, makes it and then takes the money, so no chance for errors down the line. Other franchises and stands should take a sampling of this location's million dollar formula and realize that hot dogs should not cost more than $2 and they should definitely include fries! I have been going to Gene and Jude's for 47 years. Although I have lived in other states, I would make a point to stop there whenever I had some extra time at O'Hare airport. It is predictable, the quality is consistent, few choices and the best hotdog and fries combination ever!!! I lived down the street from Superdawg for a few years, but even then, I would return to Gene and Jude's or ""Vienna's"" as most of us locals would refer to it. I've heard rumors that the land has been sold, and the thought of it being destroyed is socially devastating. more

Gene & Jude's dogs are the best. I only live minutes away, and go out for a dog with those greasy fries as often as I could. Pros: Inexpensive, Great dogs, Easy menu more
