Worse spa I've ever been too. The management sucks! Very unprofessional, they threatened me. They charge you for an hour but don't give an hour massage. Very rude service reps! Crapy nail tech's that won't even fix a smudge before you leave the salon! Food sucks! All around a poor place to go! I would recommend any spa in town over this place! Supposed to be one of the nicest, but they treat you horribly! the only good thing at this spa is their facial-est! Don't accept their own gift cards, they talk down to you and don't believe the customer! Don't go to this spa!! Go to the chrysalis or anywhere but the Zazen Spa! more

What a joke 10/30/2011

So, I understand that spas cater to women, but the men's side must have been an afterthought. There is an adequate bathroom/shower and a one person sauna in a hallway that serves, I am assuming as the ""locker room"". Blaring through the speakers throughout the place was the most obnoxious mix of pseudo jazz and indigenous pop. Embarrassing facilities aside, it was also the worst massage I have ever had and I have had plenty. What was supposed to be ""deep tissue"" was mostly random light touches. I even asked for it harder, but that only lasted a few minutes. There was no system and the requests to focus on a particular area were ignored. All of this for a ridiculous $100. Needless to say, I will not be back. more

Hot Stone Massage 1/20/2010

The Spa has a wonderful zen like atmosphere, calming and very nice. I had a 90 minute hot stone massage with Lynne, she was wonderful. I immediately called my friend so that she could book her spa treatment and experience a wonderful afternoon as well. I look forward to returning for a facial in the near future. Betty more

Great Ambiance 1/1/2010

The colors of the spa are very soothing. I had a hot stone massage for the first time at ZaZen and it was very good. The heat of the stones was a great way to relax my muscles and my therapist also focused on areas of concern without the stones. I'm glad I experienced the hot stone, but would go back to the traditional massage in the future. There were no hair products like gel, hair spray, or hair ties. The sauna in the locker room is nice, but very small, fits two people comfortably. The spa and salon offer a number of different treatments that I would like to try in the future. I was greeted by my therapist promptly and was checked out with my spafinder.com gift certificates by the time I reached the front desk. They had a number of fun lotions and other products on display. more

Wonderful Wedding Makeup 9/12/2009

I got my makeup done at Zazen for my wedding and Kelsea did an amazing job. My makeup stayed for the entire day and my pictures were beautiful. Thank you! My bridal party also got my makeup done there-- people were not as impressed with the other woman who did makeup, but Kelsea was fabulous with everyone she worked on. thank you for a great day! more

Wonderful service, Amazing views, Very relaxing!! Highly Recomend! 1/17/2008

If your looking for an upperscale salon and spa this is the place for you! I have visited Zazen on a few occations...once for a massage, another time for a foil and cut, and I plan to visit again! The salon its self is very warm and inviting, the decor feels cozy, but very chic at the same time. Warm colors and inviting furniture start in the lobby and continue both into the salon and back into the spa area where you can frist wait in the relaxation room with a cup of tea or water. The massage I had was heaven....soft music, low lighting and able hands were all included! I didn't want to leave. And as for my salon expearence it was I would say the best I have ever had. My stylist, (Marine R.) made me feel at ease from the moment I sat down. Her knowlage of the products and her skill was apparent from the start. I have never been as happy with a foil before! She had no problem using 3 colors on me and taking extra time to make sure I had exactly what i wanted. I also tried a new cut, and I love it! So in short...this is the place to go in Bellingham! Not to mentioin there are little shops all around and some great places for lunch, I made a day of it and had lunch at Anthonys after! Your mood will shurely lift after having gone here! =) Pros: parking, service, open 7 days a week, friendly Cons: more expensive than say supercuts or a place in the mall more
