New York, ...Seattle? 4/5/2008

Zagi's makes the best NY-style pizza in Seattle, bar none. Being originally from New Jersey, I have high standards for my pizza. All too often, my Pacific Northwest friends would claim that this pizzeria or that pizzeria had ""authentic"" NY-style pizza. Zagi's was actually the last place I was going to try in Seattle - ever. There's only so much heartache a woman can take. Pros: REAL New York pizza Cons: Tiny space, plan for carry-out more

Hooray for Zagi's! 8/22/2007

I love Zagi's. My sig. other go there ALL the time and cannot get enough. Order the Tang, its incredible. Its an olive oil based pizza with garlic, assagio, spinach, artichokes, lemon and black pepper. It beats any pizza i have ever had. Their service is great. YEAH FOR ZAGI'S! Pros: The tang! the service! more

This pizza is so good! 12/5/2006

My boyfriend and I just discovered Zagi's thanks to a tip from a friend. It is so good, in that thin crust, huge slice of pizza kind of way. The people behind the counter were friendly, too, which is always a plus. We moved to the neighborhood last weekend and picked up a couple of Zagi's pies for our friends who helped us move, and everyone agreed it was the best pizza ever. You can also get pizza by the slice, if you need to get in and out quickly. And they have Dr. Pepper in a bottle! When was the last time you saw that? Pros: Really good thin crust pizza more

Best pizza ever! 9/18/2006

Best pizza in Seattle by far. It was a little slow on delivery. But well worth the wait. Friendly service. Pros: Best pizza I've ever had. Friendly service. Cons: The wait. more

A perfect 10 8/5/2006

Being from Seattle and travelling to NY, all in between, I have never found this thin crust ZA. Not only is the staff friendly and explains in depth the ways to create each pie, the owners actually work and deliver! Almost everything is organic, some certified, and community oriented. The bread is from Larsen's bakery, the meats from the Cascioppo Bros, and the marinara a trade secret! The calzone is almost too big for the plate, the pizza definently is, and the dressings for the salads are incredible. Everything is HOMEMADE, can you really get that anywhere else? I would pay more for this food than they charge, please check it out for yourself! Pros: Price, pizza, dinners- true caring owners Cons: more seating more

Dis is da place! 7/12/2006

Sweet Zagi's, thank you. I love living in Seattle, but one thing I have missed about the east coast (NJ & NY) has been the pizza. While there are no replacement's for John's or DeLorenzo's (Hudson Street), Zagi's has become the west coast version of NY's Two Boots. And how thankful I am for this!!! The crust is thin with the perfect sprinkling of corn meal, the sauce is perfect- with a hint of spiciness. I learned from the authentic Italian owned cafe next door that they would only rent the current space where Zagi's stand to someone who would make them proud- i.e. good Italian food. They are very happy with their tenants! You really must try this place. Get a pie to go and then go sit on the beach at nearby Golden Gardens- can't get more decadent than that. Pros: Pizza to die for Cons: Can be a long wait for your pizza, when to go. Delivery is slow. more

a rare gem 12/23/2005

Good pizza used to be hard to find in Seattle, but with the addition of Zagi's in Ballard this is no longer true. The pizza served up at this hip, friendly joint is athentic, soulful and mouthwatering. The other dishes (pasta, soup, salads, sandwiches) are also awesome. It is the kind of food you crave on a weekly basis. I've never eaten anything I didn't like here. The staff is friendly and it is cool to watch them toss pies and make food in their open kitchen. Can't recommend it enough!! more

Kick-ass Pie 12/22/2005

There may be a lot of pizza joints in the Seattle area but I haven't found one more excellent as this. This pizza pie is delicious, totaly hits the spot every time I go in and the staff is cool too. Mondo size slices that bring home the flavor of the gods. The egg plant parmesian is super good too. Grub on! more

Soggy crust 12/18/2005

Not really impressed. Stopped here for a quick slice, and although their slices are huge, the crust was thin and soggy, almost undercooked. Their fresh pizzas straight out of the oven may be better, but I'm not going to find out. more

raises the bar for pizza 11/30/2005

like the previous reviewer, I drive a good distance to get this pizza, hte finest wood-baked, thin-crust, tasty pie I've found in town. At last! Pros: best pizza around, perfect crust, good ingredients Cons: doesn't deliver far more

Finally a pizzaworth driving for 6/13/2005

I am from NJ oriiginally and it is impossible to find a ""great"" Pizza in Seattle. There are good pizza places but not great, until Zagi's opened that is. I ordered a pie to take out, I drove from West Seattle to get it. When I got the pie to my car I tried a slice right out of the oven. I pulled it out and it flopped over. A huge smile came across my face. I haven't been able to fold a slice of pizza since I moved here 5 years ago. The corn meal on the crust sent right back to the Jersey shore. Finally a great pizza in Seattle. Thanks guys! more
