Zagi's makes the best NY-style pizza in Seattle, bar none. Being originally from New Jersey, I have high standards for my pizza. All too often, my Pacific Northwest friends woul...

Not really impressed. Stopped here for a quick slice, and although their slices are huge, the crust was thin and soggy, almost undercooked. Their fresh pizzas straight out of th...

Best Pie In Seattle 12/9/2006

When I feel like treating myself to a pie the way it should be, there's no questions the place to go is Zagi's. Thin crust, the perfect heft and the Guiness carmelized onions are divine. The slices they have ready to eat are usually spot on and offer a selection other than the usual cheese and pepperoni. My favorite combination is the Prosciutto, Mushrooms and Guiness Carmelized Onions. That's a tasty pie! more

Zagi's Pizza Ristorante Could Be Huge Some Day 9/2/2006

Anticipating the gentrification of Ballard? The members of their overworked staff seems to know what they're doing, unlike some large chains where those who have the knowledge are far removed from those who do the work. Their recipes are slightly superior to those of most other thin crust pizza establishments and the prices justifiably higher. Drinks also aren't limited to those found at every other pizza restaurant. The remodel of the interior has a definite slightly-upscale personal touch but it's a safe bet that most of their revenue comes from take-outs and catering. more

Big, flat, and tasty 3/1/2006

The relatively new Zagi's pizza is tucked into an unlikely storefront a stone's throw from Larsen's Scandinavian Bakery. We've been very happy with the slices we got there, and my only complaint is that there hasn't been a great selection of ready-to-eat slices, probably simply because they don't have a high volume of walk in traffic yet. With a tiny but pleasant eat-in area and interesting toppings, Zagi's will probably do well. I hope so, since the staff seems to love their work. more

New York City Pizza in Ballard 5/5/2005

Yes! Finally, an authentic NY style pizza arrives in Ballard. Now, I'm not from New York, but I'm married to a New Yorker and I've been to Manhatten many times. I will say this: Zagi's is the closest thing I've found to a real NYC pie. I say closest because I've still not found Joe's Pizza, but I'm certain it's not possible... First the crust -- thin and pliable but crisp on the bottom. You can fold it in half like the real thing. Next the price -- this is the best value in Seattle. It arrived at our house in the biggest pizza box I've ever seen. The sauce is just right, and there's plenty of cheesey goodness. These guys are on it. Apparently they used to follow the Grateful Dead around selling pizza and finally landed here in Seattle. I, for one, welcome them with an open mouth... more
