YOUR PEACE OF MIND RESPONDS 5/4/2011

It is always painful to read a negative review, knowing that one of our community residents is dissatisfied for some reason. Often written at the peak of anger or frustration, what typically is not revealed in such negativity are the full circumstances or, the ultimate resolution of their dissatisfaction. As you might expect, there is usually “more to the story,” and such reviews cannot be deleted once posted, however satisfactorily resolved.\r \r Because we manage upwards of 10,000 residents at any one time, regular interaction results from daily life issues. These include “calls for response,” ranging from the “true crisis” (burst kitchen pipe that has to be fixed immediately), to the “manufactured crisis” (seven angry calls within an hour, from a single resident, because their sidewalk isn’t immediately shoveled – despite the snowstorm still raging outside). It’s all part of the job.\r \r Another part of the job is the enforcement of association by-laws – usually created by the community developer – and readily made available for review prior to buying a home in such a community. Unfortunately, we become the “bad guy” when by-laws need to be enforced. It is the least fun part of our job. We mail out 2-3 violation notices every day, when individuals unmindfully, or even deliberately, choose to not live by the community standards they tacitly agreed to by becoming a resident. \r \r Part of our mission is to be responsive, effective, courteous and respectful, with all of our community residents, even when the occasional resident makes doing so a massive challenge. We endeavor to address such instances with patience and grace. Four negative, anonymous reviews over the past four years is a testament that Your Peace Of Mind has been largely successful in fulfilling that mission. Our goal remains: zero negative reviews. \r \r I encourage you to visit our website, ypminc dot com, to find out more about what we do and how we do it. In addition, you are invited to contact me directly if you feel that our team is not reasonably coming through for you in some way.\r \r Glynis McBain\r Owner – Your Peace of Mind™\r more

Who wants aggravation? 1/31/2011

Absolutely not a good management company. If you enjoy inadequate services, no call backs, attitude, and owners to be disrespected and mistreated then maybe this company is right for you. If you have the power to make this choice and all of the above can be offset by friendly manipulation then you have found your choice. Considering all of the other reviews it's fair to imagine what management company wrote the only good one... more

My two cents 3/19/2010

In my opinion, no property management company is good. Thats what I always thought when my board hired YPM to manage our community. When I researched them I found these comments and thought O'Boy here we go again. We have been using YPM for over 9 months now and I came across this info in City Search again while looking for their website and thought I owed it to YPM to comment. I think they are doing a great job. They always return calls, are extremely professional and by the book. For the first time I can actually say, our community landed a good managment company, as far as managment companies go. I have even thought about running for the board now that I know we have a company that works with us and makes us feel like we are valued. Pros: Very professional, great service Cons: None really, may be too focused on by-laws more

Brighton Woodlake Condo's 9/9/2009

If you want more than two parking spots this isn't the place for you, expect constant harassment from property manager in a mean condescending way. On top of the normal association dues of $120, if you own more than two cars they will make you pay for an additional storage unit outside of your home which you get to pay. Pros: Great neighbors Cons: Condo Maint, Parking, Management more

YPM Review 7/22/2008

Your Peace of Mind has not been good for us in my opinion. The property managers make themselves unavailable to speak to individual owners and employ personnel to run interference, take requests, and let you know that the manager is too busy to speak to you (unless you are a condo board member and then they will pretend to be VERY interested in speaking to you; if you have perceived power you are treated very well, if you don't you are treated very poorly.) Apparently the managers think that they shouldn't be bothered with such trivial things as follow-up or courtesy. The phone staff will take a message and then you will hear nothing about work requests. They will likely be blown off unless you follow-up yourself. The management of this company communicates an extraordinary amount of arrogance and an aggressive ""I know it all"" mentality. Beyond that negative taste is that they do not do a good job either. They make numerous mistakes most of which could be avoided if they would simply dialogue with people rather than trying to avoid contact. There is absolutely no above and beyond with this company. They do the bare minimum. They seem to be concerned with funneling contracts to contractors with whom they have sweet heart deals rather than trying to ensure that a client receives the best service and value. When called on their mistakes or requests for change they will fall into an aggressively defense mode and try to ""cover their rears"" seemingly employing unethical methods including talking over you and out right lying. The poor customer service, mistakes, bare minimum effort and questionable ethics merit taking a look at another company. Pros: Some of the telephone personel are sweet and polite Cons: Unavailability of actual property manager, aggressively defensive, bare minimum and mistakes more

BAD COMPANY 6/5/2008

Peace of mind needs to learn how to return phone calls. I would like to know what the heck we are paying fees for and the grass is growing around our so called pond in Appoapolis Point In Inkster Mi. Somebody needs to get off there behinds and handle there business or I will get with the neighbors to protest not paying our association fees..... ha ha ha GET ON YOUR JOB YOUR SO CALLED PEACE OF MIND. more

Wost property management company I have ever EVER EVER had to deal with 5/5/2008

Completely unprofessional staff. They take forever to respond to our calls, they are short-staffed, they seem really confused and not organized at all. Our grass has never looked worse, they hire Mexicans to take care of the lawns and the Mexicans SLEEP under our car ports using pizza boxes as pillows. The ladies in their office are totally rude. Pros: Not one that I could find Cons: Just about everything. more
