DO NOT RENT AT PINECREST APARTMENTS 1/25/2009

Pinecrest Apartments in Broadview Heights, OH is owned by Windsor Mgmt in Cleveland. Living here has become more like living in the hood than in the burbs. You can never talk to a Manager at Windsor, your calls are never returned and you are treated poorly by their Kastapo secretary. Amy, the Property Manager is utterly impossible to deal with. Not sure what her duties are, but they sure aren't to take care of the property or the residents needs. She gives nothing but a list of excuses and lies, her favorite line is ""It will be fixed shortly, I am working on it."" If something breaks in the apartment it takes forever or never to fix, my toilet ran for a year before they fixed it. Air conditioners are ancient and have never been replaced. I wouldn't trust the balconies. Washer and dryer units do not work, the hallway lights are never working, and pray it doesn't snow it won't be cleared for several days. Now the best part, the garages. The new doors are always broken, they only go down part way, which has attracted wild cats to the area. Non residents are not stopped from feeding them, attracting not only more cats, but wild rodents. The car ports smell like cat urine, and they are destroying personal property. This does not appear to be an issue for management. Bottom line is they want your money, but do not want to spend any money on upkeeping the property to keep the residents somewhat happy. If you decide to move here ???? hope you have an attorney as a friend. Cons: Management and everything above. more

only as a last resort!!! 5/22/2008

Moved into one of their efficiencies last September, signing a lease for 16-months (with first and last month free. In December, we received a notice that on January 1st, 2008 , our rent would go up by $10 dollars a month. It said that all residents needed to come sign a new lease by Dec. 31st, or they would automatically be put on a month-to-month lease. The month to month lease included a fine of $25 every month.I began paying the rent increase and the month-to-month penalty in January. In late January my girlfriend moved in with me and had to be added to the lease. We also asked about getting a bigger apartment, but were told we would have to sign a new 1- year lease if we did that. So the office manager, had her sign the back of the old lease, so she could get a parking pass and not be towed. It is now May, and I have found a great apartment big enough for the 2 of us and my daughter when she visits. I went to the office manager (the 3rd different one since we moved in) and they have no memory of the December newsletter and say we are both locked into a lease until Dec. 2008. They said they would check the facts then let me know if we were ok to leave. 28 hours later, here i sit, writing a review for them. At this point it feels like they are not contacting me so that i will lose the new apartment that i need tpo sign a lease on. VERY EVIL!!! Pros: When I moved in I was only paying 425 for an efficiency Cons: the mental patients that live here, and incompitent staff more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY 3/31/2008

I live in the Pinecrest apartments and have had nothing but disappointment from this management company. \r 1. Staff is intolerable. They make you feel as if you do not have a right to be happy in your home, as if you are putting them out when you have a problem. Management refuses to take responsbility or manage anything, they tell you to take your problems elsewhere (most often to the police). \r 2. Grounds are unkept and ugly. Liter is everywhere, dog owners are not required to clean up after their pets, gutters are falling off, buckets of water are overflowing from drips in basements, lights are always out. \r 3. Laundry is a joke, washers/dryers do not work. Management also refuses to buy new ones and standard line is ""next week we will have new ones"". Have been hearing this for a year. They insist the laundry is a ""luxury"" and that we do not pay for it. However, if I had known that this was their view when I toured the grounds and saw laundry machines, I probably would not have rented in the first place.\r 4. People are extremely loud, walls are paper thin. \r 5. Management does not abide by Broadview Hts. building codes or housing laws, police and city officals have confirmed this management company is very hard to deal with. \r 6. Winter is a nightmare, nothing is plowed or shoveled until is has already started to melt and tenants have shoveled their ways out of the lot first. Pros: can't think of a single thing Cons: please read review more
