Whetstone Chocolates

Went before Christmas to get presents. I heard about them on the Radio and thought I would give them a try. I got a small piece of chocolate nut fudge, 4 crabs and a peanut butter cup. $15. The fudge was hard and the crabs were ok. They almost tasted old but we were told every thing was made daily. Going on the tours is fun, you get a little taste of some sweets. This is always an easy gift for a girlfriend or relative, because it's handmade and a little more than those heart boxes you get in the grocery store. Only thing is I think the chocolate is a little sweet, but I like their chocolate covered popcorn. more

Whetstone Chocolates is the place to buy your St. Augustine souvenirs. Located near Flagler Hospital, Whetstone chocolates is a small gift shop attached to the chocolate factory. They offer free tours during business hours. On the tour you see the machines and how they make certain chocolates, see a short video of the chocolate industry in St. Augustine, and then get a free sample. The tour changes every time you go depending on what kind of chocolates they are making that day. The factory is usually closed on weekends, so to see the actual factory at work, go on a weekday. The products in the gift shop are of excellent quality. They offer items in bulk, specialty themed items, and have a display case from which you can purchase smaller amounts of each item. They also offer sugar-free items. more
