Terrible Experience, Start to Finish 5/23/2009

I came looking for a massage, and left tenser than I came. The masseuse, Lucy, was weak and didn't really attempt to do more than cover me in lotion. My every need was not attended to, in fact, nothing I was looking for was accomplished, rather my massage was wholly unsatisfying. I do not recommend this spa. You may want to check out Sol Spa a couple blocks away instead for a similar experience (for $10 less). Pros: Good atmosphere Cons: Weak massage, poor service, questionable cleanliness more

finally perfect spa 5/12/2009

I've lived in NYC forever and have had a heck of a time finding a perfect spa tell u i'm picky. I've had some awful experiences until now. west garden is fabulous and I'm really thankful I found this place. (It was from citysearch reviews). I highly recommend wg because they do exactly what I request, love the location nex block by penn station. more

I love the way I am taken care of every time I go. Whatever my concern, it is handled with proffessionalism, understanding and patience. I am totally pleased with my results. It's convenient before work or late in the evening. You will be in the best of hands. The minute i walked in the door west garden made me feel incredibly comfortable.I am very pleased with the outcome. reception and masseues are extremely warm ,friendly and professional. The atmosphere is very relaxing and clean.I would highly recommend. more

excellent massage 5/11/2009

This was my first visit to west garden and I was so pleasantly surprised!!! I had a table shower and a 2hrs massage, both were amazing. She is so attentive. She helped me relax after a rough day, massaged me and rubbed my head. It felt so good!!! She was very sweet and informative. The most relaxing massage I have ever had. Super gentle extractions and great massage. When I left there my face and body were glowing!!! And still are!!! I can't wait to go back!!! Pros: beatiful atmosphere, warm staff more

Don't bother!!! 3/9/2009

Horrible service! I can't believe this establishment is still opened & operating. The receptionist doesn't speak proper english, the place is for 30 & 40 year old men that don't get serviced by their wives correctly!! more

well organized place 1/24/2009

i've been going to wgs since they opened like 9 years ago, i'm getting addicted not by bj, but massage. i've been to other places time to time with my clients, but still wgs is my number 1 place. clean floor, well organized place, friendly stafff, well trained massage therapist, even some of them are licensed. well, i would recommend to my friends, if they need a serious relaxation. Pros: thumbs up Cons: too popular more

Life Changing Experience at the Oriental Paradise 1/11/2009

My friend and I thought that this experience was great the first night. Until we went the next night again, and then we recieved pure bliss, which was the cherry on top of our delicious West Garden sunday. The tender and soft hands of Wo Gin Pak traveled through my body like the millions of cars through Time Square every day. The smile on our faces when we left was as big as a childs in front of the Toys-R-Us in Time Square. Not only was the massage exotic and Rotic, but it ended in an explosion of joy, which was cleaned up with a warm moist towel. Which immediately gave me another chub, and Wo Gin Pak was happy to take care of in another way. Other tourists will be telling you to visit Empire State Building or Central Park, but this tourist is telling you to visit West Garden for a true NYC experience. Two very enthusiastic cox up from an avid visitor of happy ending massage parlors. Pros: Clean, soft hands, willingness to go above and beyond to make the customer happy, small hands make me feel large Cons: Long finger nails may have scratched my prostate during the butt-crack tickling more

Barely worth it... 12/18/2008

I went about a half dozen times over four months or so. The quality of the massage ranged from horrible to decent. I was attracted to the cleanliness, the decor, and the manner in which the massage is happily ended. It's sort of the Bliss of this facet of the industry - clean, bright, almost corporate. I kept thinking that I would find a masseuse with whom I connected, but each time I was disappointed afterwards. The massage skills are mostly amateur and the endings are quick and robotic. One masseuse attempted dirty talk, which seemed inappropriate to me. It's not a very arousing environment and the masseuses aren't memorable. Pros: professional environment, clean, safe Cons: massage, price more

I WAS NOT IMPRESSED 12/1/2008

Ive been to many asian "spas" in NYC. Some are better than others. West Garden Spa is not the worst but definately not the best. Unfortunately, my favorite closed down. West Garden Spa is below average on the massage and the girls are NOT goodlooking at all and on he OLD side. Its decor is much better than most asian places but who really goes for the decor. The 2 things that count are (1) thea massage itself (2) how young/pretty the girls are. The massage was below average, the girl was old and not too attractive. I saw a few other girls that work there and they were the same. I dont recommend this p especially for $100 + tip. Pros: nice decor (for an asian spa), you dont feel shady going in there Cons: below avg massage, old girls more

Happy with the service every time 10/15/2008

Let me start by saying I am from US but have lived in Asia --Thailand, Hong Kong -- for the past 18 years and have massages a two or three times a week. So I know a little bit about this subject. This place is professional, clean, good facilities, friendly staff and good service. As with all of these places it also depends on finding a masseuae you like and feel comfortable with. That said, I have been happy with all three that I've had here. No complaints from me. Price has been straight $100 a shot but unlike some other reviews, I have never been hassled at all about tips in the 6 times I have been there and I usually leave $20 for the girl. more

Great atmosphere, clean, professional and R E L A X I N G 10/9/2008

I highly recommend this place to any man who needs to relieve some stress in more ways than one. The atmosphere is pleasant, the place is clean and temperature is right. Showers are clean and the locker room has the amenities that you need to get back going with your day. The massage is nice, a little rough but you can have it your way- just ask the therapist. The rub-and-tug is really special and they clean you up with a moist, warm towel. Then they continue to massage you for another 15-20 minutes. All business here and professional. Price is average to any other day spa and the tip is 30%. I highly recommend this place and will return on every trip. SUMMARY: Trip on the train: $4 1 hour massage with a rub-and-tug and hot towel clean up: $130 Feeling like a million bucks the rest of the afternoon: Priceless. Pros: Centrally located, nice clean faculity, rub-and-tug with no drinks to buy for her. Cons: The women could be a little better looking or have some breasts. more

great masseuses 9/30/2008

Its relatively expensive but they have specials which allow you to get discounts on additional services. This is also a place where you can turn your American Express points into gift certificates. (also if you go to Costco you can buy a SpaFinder certificate for 80 dollars which has 100 dollars in value and They are one of the afilliated spas) I love them for the massages (Sam is great if you like someone who will really give you a firm massage) . I can't even take away a star but I have to talk about one guy who gave me a massage who just taaaaalked (i'm not about it) and compounded the injustice by just having eaten a lunch containing onions (not very om-like) The relaxation room is really calming and always has plenty to nibble on while you wait. (dried fruit, nuts, cucumber and orange water, hot tea) They don't rush you out the door once your service is over and they leave a lot of items in the locker room to help make your stay more relaxing. There is also a sauna in the locker room (not very big) for when you are done and just need a little bit more spa treatment. I highly recommend this place to someone who just needs a break! It also makes a great gift for a loved one or for a boss when you're trying to brown nose big time. Pros: great all around massage, nice environment Cons: not bad enough that i can complain about more

Best Handies in Murray Hill 1/11/2008

Whether I'm entertaining clients or just need to relieve some stress on the way home from work, this place does the trick. Most rub-and-tugs are so quick and efficient that i'm left feeling unappreciated at the end. West Garden Spa is a whole nother story. The employees compliment both my viscosity and distance at the end, and even take the time to clean my belly for me, not with a tissue, but with a moistened towelette. I recommend this place to anyone, if money's is an issue you do it yourself, but that's for peasants. more

Just Too EXPENSIVE and they REQUIRE and or DEMAND 30 to 40% TIP 10/28/2007

My friend was annoying me to go with him to west garden spa, and so I went. The massage was O....K, although I have had better. It seems to be a clean place..... The thing that really bugged me was the Price Its $100 Plus tip, but not just any tip they demand that it be 30 to 40% which is just crazy... and the lady has the guts to stop you and say no good, You HAVE to put more if she didn't like your tip.... Bottom line is I been to many similar places , and for $60 bucks I can get a better massage and better front desk service..... so will I repeat ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! Not worth my hard earned Money!!!!!!!! Pros: the waiting room thats all comfortable leather seating with a flat tv Cons: PRICE PRICE AND ATTITUDE more

Overall great place 12/16/2006

Very clean and very relaxed atmosphere. Great dry sauna, steam sauna, table shower. Massage rooms have relaxing music with pleasant aromas. The massage staff is very professional, but very friendly and accommodating. The price is a bit hefty, and they'll insist on the 30% tip, but it's usually worth it. Pros: You'll get whateveryou expect and more. Cons: Price more

User review by humunculus 4/25/2006

the facilities are just fine. there is a locker room with keyed lockers (you can take your key with you), a shower room, steam room, and sauna. the massage rooms and tables are clean and neat. the practitioners are very accomodating and if you prefer a certain style of massage, they try to take care of you to. Pros: steam room, sauna Cons: sliiiightly expensive, maybe too popular more
