I am happy to have the opportunity to give a ""tip"" to Warren Tricomi. How about: Don't offer Groupon deals that are nothing more than a bait and switch. If you had actually allowed me to make an appointment to use my Groupon for your little establishment, I might have liked your services enough to become a regular customer for years to come. Now, I am someone who will tell people how badly you treated me for years to come. My advice to potential customers - don't try to go to this place on an internet deal. They will never give you an appointment. Thanks for nothin', Warren Tricomi. (And that was my experience with BOTH of their salons, on Madison and at the Plaza). more

I recently had my hair colored by Danielle Lint at the Plaza salon. It was simple amazing!! I love the highlights!!!! The Salon it totally beautiful too. Her professionalism and knowledge put me at ease. I'm really happy I decided to let her change my look. I was a bit hesitant at first but she was highly recommended so I gave it a shot. Happy I did!!! I will be going back to her for the many years to come! more

Don't Use A Bloomspot Gift Certificate Here! 3/15/2012

To write a negative review of a place I haven't even been to yet shows how frustrating it has been to schedule an appt here using a Bloomspot gift certificate. You can only email the salon to make an appt if you have the audacity to be using Bloomspot, and when you do, it takes DAYS to get a response. In fact, I'm still waiting! I called two days after emailing with no response, and was snapped at rudely by a woman who said that there are specific people at the salon designated to 'deal with' the Bloomspot bookers, and they are ""getting to it, it's only been 2 days!' after being put on hold and disconnected the first time I called. I think 2 days is actually a long time to wait to book an appt for which you have already paid, deal or no deal. It has now been 4 days and I have yet to receive a response. I'm nervous about actually going to the salon- if they treat their Bloomspot customers like this before walking in the door, I can't imagine it'll get any better once inside....I don't know why WT would participate in these deals if they feel compelled to treat the customers who purchase them like second class citizens.... more

Patricia Fitzgibbon, IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! 3/8/2012

After experiencing a traumatizing hair cut somewhere else I decided I would splurge on my hair, and go to a nice fancy salon(WARREN TRICOMI At The Plaza) and get my hair done by a pro..from the moment I walked in I was greeted very nicely the girls at the reception area were really welcoming then I had my coat checked in and I was thinking this place isn't that big until I walked to the back of the salon. The salon let me just say is very, very BEAUTIFUL, I was introduced to my stylist Patricia Fitzgibbon this Model Like/Beautiful girl she began to touch my hair she has MAGIC fingers!!! What that girl did to my hair was AMAZING! I never had so much volume and movement, after the cut She did the blow dry herself and explained everything she was doing/ so I also got a lesson.. Two days later I did my hair myself and was surprised I could almost re-create what she had done....Then that week I saw Patricia on The Today show doing Martha Stewarts hair.. Need less to say, I FOUND A GEM.. I am defiantly a new client of the salon and of Patricia Fitzgibbon, I AM HOOKED ON PATRICIA! She is so worth it!!! more

crappy services... really crappy... :(( 2/22/2012

Disappointing... my experience was simply disappointing... I can only recommend taking your hair somewhere else... A lazy incompetent colorist hardly listened to my requests and suggestions, and slapped a flat and boring color with utmost confidence... the quality of her work was no better than what I can do at home with any drugstore brand haircolor... not that she cared much .. she was too preoccupied with doing her nails and adjusting her appearance in the mirrors... and needless to say, she didnt like it when I told her that I was unimpressed with the color and the quality of it... Initially, she just walked away.. then she came back and offered (oh that offer felt so forced) to fix whatever it was I was unhappy with... I agreed but before I got to her chair, she promptly departed to an early lunch in the opposite part of town, so she couldnt even come back when the front desk called her... The haircut was good even though I had to wait for stylist for a while despite having a set appointment... the bottom line: OMG, that experience wasnt worth the $$ at all... the color and cut I got, I could have done for way much less with the same, if not better, results... this place is a complete rip-off in a fancy frame... more

BAD BAD BAD customer Service. not worth your money 11/23/2011

OMG..... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE... The place is nice, but Customer service is the worst ever!!! EVER!!!! I was not happy with my hair cut because my left sideburn is not cut the same as my right one. 3 days later I went back asking them to fix it. 4 of their staff suddenly surrounded me and tried to blame me for not telling my hairdresser earlier. They even intimidated you and claim that you want something done for free. Edward Tacomi, the owner, who showed up after I keep complaining, he bring me out, and told me that my hair is perfect and told me that I just want a 2nd haircut for free... What the hell... it was only freakin 2 days..... He was so rude. Seriously, there are a lot of much better hair salon in NYC with the same price but much better quality! If you ask me, it's really not worth your money or time. more

Great Experience 7/5/2011

I have very long, very fine hair but I have a ton of it. People usually take hours and hours to highlight my hair. My colorist was great. She talked me out of a single process to go blonder and instead took the time to do highlights. It came out way better then I expected and she was right, it was much for my hair and lifestyle. more

She talked me out of a single process to go blonder and instead took the time to do highlights. It came out way better then I expected and she was right, it was much for my hair and lifestyle. She also noted for my next appointment to put in more time as to not run into other clients. My stylist was just as attentive and said I had the appropriate style for my face but it just needed a better shape which he did skillfully. I will be back in a few months. more

Edward Tricomi rude owner bad customer service 3/29/2011

I went to the salon Warren Tricomi at the Plaza as first time guest, as I wanted to try the services across from my office. I normally go to Fekkai and I am familiar with nice salons. I was told when I originally went in my highlights would cost $250 by the front desk associate, plus as a local business they extended 20% off as a potential new corporate account. After the color, I found out from the assistant that blow-dry was not included. That she could arrange one for me at 80 dollars extra or I could do it on my own. Then she mentioned the colorists were not great at blow drying, well why would I do it then? I opted to air dry / quickly dry my hair in the salon as I wanted to work out later. The entire session I had to hold my handbag as there were no tables in the salon. Very luxurious. I also managed to get serum on my bag that the associate gave me from the leaking bottle, lucky it left a small stain. At the time, the front office manager said they would take care of it. Then I go to pay my bill and it was $375, way above what the front desk associate quoted on Wednesday at $250. I spoke a few times to the Front Desk Manager and she put me in touch directly with the owner. Edward was rude; with zero intention to extend a refund of the difference quoted. He was fully obnoxious on the phone. They also told me they would no longer take care of the stain on my bag. I had three friends lined up to go in, I made sure to let them know how I was treated. Definitely go to John Frieda or Fekkai, this place is over priced and the owner Edward is an ungracious host. more

Supermodel Eyebrows! 12/29/2010

Varvara is by far the most impressive eyebrow expert I have ever been to. She?s not only is the sweetest person, she is also very experienced in her profession. She transformed my eyebrows after they were ruined by ill trained ?waxers?. I have not let anyone else do them since. I highly recommend Varvara to anyone, you have nothing to lose and so much to gain!! more

Varvara: (Beauty) Miracle Worker 12/29/2010

They shouldn't call it ""Eyebrow Shaping by Varvara"" -- it's more like ""Varvara: Miracle Worker"". Really, it's THAT serious. Since about the age of 10, I've had those crazy bushy eyebrows that grow in about 20 different directions, the kind that make shaping a real challenge for every last beautician -- not to mention technique (waxing, threading, tweezing, I've done it all) -- I could find. EXCEPT for Varvara. She welcomes you into her 'lab' and examines your eyebrows under her magnifier (aka beauty microscope) and then swiftly gets to work. When you open your eyes and she hands you the mirror, I promise the first thought that will come to mind is, ""That's me? DAMN I'm hot!"" That's the feeling every woman deserves and Varvara is the woman EVERYONE needs to go see to get it. Oh, and reader? You're welcome. :) more

Varvara, eyebrow shaping extraordinaire! 11/2/2010

Varvara was recommended to me by a co-worker about 3 years ago. I had always admired her gorgeous brows and she let me in on her secret! It was Varvara. When she moved from Eliza's eyes in the Trump Tower, to the Warren-Tricomi Salon, I followed her there! She has transformed my thin, scraggly brows into gorgeously full, and shapely brows. Her skill and patience has done the trick and I get SO many compliments on my eyebrows. Before Varvara, I hated my eyebrows and filled them in using the wrong color, in the wrong shape. etc. She showed me the correct color to use for my brows, and gave me a little tutorial on the best way to use eyebrow pencil. Varvara also tints my brows when they need it, and based on what my haircolor highlights are looking like. She always picks exactly the right hue and they look dramatic and yet natural every time. If you're looking for a face-changing new look, I highly recommend that you book an appointment with Varvara. You won't be disappointed! more

I started seeing Danielle at Warren Tricomi about a year ago and there is no way I am ever trying anyone else! My blonde highlights look so incredibly natural (and I'm a brunette!).. I'd trust her with my life and I'd recommend her to anyone. Stephanie's cuts are perfect too! more

great cut, worst color ever 8/24/2010

Having seen the work of Joel Warren and Edward Tricomi on various TV shows, I decided to splurge and book appointments with each of them at their Greenwich salon. Cut....shorter than I wanted, but great great cut. Color...absolutely terrible. I ended up with very very blonde hair that did not in anyway go with my skin tone. I asked for chestnut color. Did not listen to me at all. Came back for "correction". Assistant did the correction and it was just as bad as the original. Took months to get my hair back in condition. Joel is totally not with the price. Quite the opposite. more

The Ultimate Experience in Luxury Hair Care

Editorial
  • The Space
Founded in 1996 by colorist Joel Warren, stylist Edward Tricomi and nail care specialist Roxana Pintilie, this salon is regularly featured on TV and exalted in fashion magazines. Done-up in moody Moroccan Gothic decor (think lots of gilded mirrors, rich fabrics and wrought-iron), the large space bustles with a steady stream of clients. The vibe is coolly friendly and fabulous; clients range from suburban regulars and splurging tourists to famous fans like Kate Beckinsale, Hilary Swank and Natalie Portman.

    The Services
A former guitarist, Tricomi is affectionately nicknamed "Edward Scissorhands" for his unique way of cutting; using two shears and snipping at warp-speed, he "sculpts" hair when dry to get a better feel for its natural shape. Warren and his team deliver quality color and definition using Redken products; Pinitlie, founder of the Hardware nail line, offers such treatments as Green Tea and Marine pedicures.
