Don't Skip it 9/19/2005

After reading a previous review, I felt the need to respond. I have frequented the Venetian Moon many time since I posted a review back on 9/20/05. The service, atmosphere and food are always fantastic. The friendliness of the staff is one of the main reasons for my return visits. They really make an effort to make you feel welcome. I?m sure, like every restaurant, there is an occasional tough night for whatever reason. As for the crowd downstairs, it can get busy, but it?s usually after the dining hours (10:00 PM). The lounge area becomes occupied with customers having an after dinner drink (or two), watching the end of the ballgame or out for a cocktail. To be expected. What better way to end an evening! It?s much more enjoyable to spend a night at the ?Moon than to drive in town to pay for gas, parking and higher food prices. Pros: Friendly staff, great food and drinks Cons: none more

Once favorite ruined by BAD service 9/13/2005

In 2005 I wrote: The Venetian Moon is the best kept secret that should be kept a secret nomore! A mere 11 miles north of Boston is worth the drive for a Martini Menu any vodka verteran would admire. Space is limited and it fills up quickly - good indication of the quality! NOW 2008: I would still agree with the quality of the entrees (or tapas) as well as the overabundant martini options. Though a long time favorite (used to live across the street for couple of years, so I've frequented often), I was gravely upset at the service I received during my last visit. We were seated immediately, but it was more than 15 minutes before we were even approached for our drink order (and another 15 minutes before they arrived). Our waitress was impersonal and acted as though we were inconveniencing her. Well, the romantic night out for two, wasn't about her. Sadly enough, it seemed the evening wasn't about us either. Makes me hesitant to recommend a place that has been a long time favorite :- ( Pros: Martini Menu, Quaint Atmosphere, Smaller Tapas offered Cons: HORRIBLE Service more

I love Venetian Moon 7/17/2005

Venetian Moon Is the best restarant and bar in the north shore. It was great before the bar and even better now with the huge martini menu. The staff is efficient and friendly, not to mention good looking. It is like a night out in Boston without leaving the Northshore. There is no reservations, but you can call ahead for waiting list. The weekdays are much less crowded. I highly recommend it!! Try the caramel apple martini, it is to die for! Pros: great service , awesome food, trendy atmosphere Cons: no reservations, long wait more

I loved the Venetian Moon before the bar was put in. I especially used to love to come in and be waited on by Mary Ellen. The Martini Bar is great, but I miss the old ambience! more
