UNSATISFACTORY! 10/27/2008

Utopia Management is consistently pathetic. I have been working with them since February, and I've been disappointed from the first month. They have yet to respond to my questions within three days, and sometimes I have to ask multiple times. However, the most disturbing strategy they use is to spread out known problems with the property just so they can charge you the ""mandatory"" service charge every time they send someone to the property. I know this because my tenants recently notified me that Utopia noted a list of issues in February, yet Utopia only tells me about 1 or 2 each month. So I quickly realized Utopia spread out fixing the problems just so they can charge the maintenance labor charges every time they send someone out there. Absolutely horrendous company with little regard for business ethics. Do NOT use their services. Cons: Difficult to contact, impossible to trust more

Happy Renter 10/27/2008

I just recently rented from Utopia Management. I just wanted to say how convenient the company has made renting. Not only was I able to go on line and apply for the apartment, but I was able to view the apartment over the weekend. This was great for me because I work Mon. thru Fri. and I did not have to take any time off from work. Thanks again Utopia!!! Pros: Very Customer Oriented more

Great Customer Service 10/24/2008

My husband and I needed to find a rental in a very short amount of time. I came across an ad of Utopia Management?s and they returned my phone call in a timely manner. When I informed the agent of our limited amount of time she crammed her schedule to get us in to see rentals as soon as possible. We ended finding a great home in a great area and still had enough time to schedule movers. Signing the lease and moving in was a smooth process and there was never any confusion because they took the time to communicate with us and explain in detail anything we had questions on. more

Best Rental Company in SD 10/20/2008

Utopia takes care of us every time. We have been living in one of their rentals for 2 years and anytime something comes up the maintenance staff is right there to handle it. The staff is friendly and responsive, it is a pleasure to rent from them. more

Utopia has the most selections of propertys in san diego, so when i had to relocate to san diego it was no question i was going to contact Utopia. They where extremely helpful, fast and efficeint placed me in a great, safe and wonderful community. They understood me and answered all my questions i highly recommend Utopia Management to anyone who is looking for a new home. more

BEST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT ! 9/30/2008

I own a couple of homes in the San Diego area which are currently managed by Utopia Management, i live out the country so picking a management company for me was extremely important being that i am rarely in th area, i would like to say that i am extremely happy with their services. Utopia has kept me informed with any changes or simply just updates, i have had prevoius management services by other companies and they have all failed to fill my needs.Utopia has the best services they are extremely professional and efficeint iam glad to say that my Propertys are Managed by Utopia Management. more

Need a place? 8/29/2008

I have just recently moved to San Diego from New York and got my first place from Utopia Management. I was very unfamiliar with the San Diego area but thanks to the people at Utopia Management I now have a nice house close to my school and in a good neighborhood. I would really recommend this company to anyone who needs a place. more

Cool & Comfortable Again! 8/29/2008

I rent a condo on the 4th floor of a down town high rise, & the air conditioner decided to stop working on the hotttest day of August. I called the Utopia Maintenance Dept, and they assured me that I would get an call with 12 hrs for the repair. Once the appointment was set, the technician called before arriving, and made the repairs during my lunch break. We had not any issues since this is a newer condo, and I was skeptical of how my first my emergency call would be handled. This is the fastest, easiest repair call I have ever made. I wish that all repair calls were met with the same diligence everywhere! more

Public Flagellation...I'm Sorry :( 8/28/2008

I'm here to apologize to my property manager for freaking out at her for no reason. I am sure you know who you are. Here's what happened....I handed my property down to Utopia to make over and rent out so that I could travel to the east cost for a new job. Well, I hadn't heard from my property manager in almost a month! What was going on over there???!! So, at 3 o'clock in the morning EST, I decided I was going to leave her a message and give her a piece of my mind. Wow! That felt GREAT! So, I hang up the phone, and it immediately begins to chime. I had 6 new voice mails. So I check them and lo and behold...my property manager had been trying to reach me for weeks to discuss my property and the progress it made. STUPID PHONE! Anyway, the last message was her giving me the good news; it had rented...a week ago.; Yes, I am a loser. So I just wanted to publicly flagellate myself for being a not very nice person in that voice mail. If I could retrieve it, I would. Thankfully my manager has a sense of humor and didn't really take it too bad. So, thanks again. And I am SOOOOOOO SORRY for that overreaction. You did a great job! more

BEST MANAGEMENT SERVICES IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY 8/28/2008

I moved from the east coast to san diego not knowing anything about San Diego or the best areas to live in, i was in the search for a new home and only had one week to do so Utopia Management Staff where very proffesional and extremely prompt i was very imppressed they practically moved me in. Utopia handled my business as if i was the only person they where working with i am extremely impressed and reccomend Utopia to everyone whos looking for a new home . Friendly and professional 8/27/2008

I use to be a tenant of Utopia Management. While I occupied their property they were very professional and thorough. My rental agent who came to do my final inspection before my move out was very detailed and friendly. She made sure to document everything and take pictures and also informed me of some steps I can take to get more of my deposit back. Even though I do not rent from them anymore I am still satisfied with their services. more

I had been renting a house from Utopia since 2005 and recently some extensive work was going to be done on house I was living in and I would have to move out. I just want to say Thank You for the assistance you provided in giving me back my deposit quickly so that my move/transition went smoothly. Great People & Service 8/12/2008

We are currently renting a property with Utopia Management located in Oceanside. Our agent with Utopia showed us different properties in the area and helped us find a house we really like in our price range. Since we moved in six months ago they have been helpful whenever we have any questions. The maintenance department is easy to work with. They have resolved any problems quickly and both the staff in the office and the maintenance personnel that have come out to the property have been friendly and professional. We really appreciate Utopia and hope to stay here and continue renting for a long time. more

Retired and Lovin it 7/31/2008

I had purchased a 10 unit apartment building before retiring & wanted to find a property management company that would not just rent the units, but would also look out for my best interest. I tried several companies that failed, until I was referred to Utopia Management by an insurance agent. I have been with this company for 9 months now, & at first I was a bit hesitant to follow their recommendations in renovating the vacant units. I decided to give them a chance, & they have been able to get better quality tenants, who in turn take better care of my investment. This I hope is the begining of a long term relationship, and I gladly recommend them to anyone that is interested in the rental market, regardless if they are the landlord or tenant.
