One of those pleasing bars I've ever seen. 1/26/2006

This fine little bistro offers a wide selection of wines and beers. The Estancia was my favorite. They also offer samplers of there wines witch they ingenlusly named flights. I had the Vegitarian Lavaosh and Fajitahs. If you're ever in uptown you MUST check it out. It is also desinged nicely. Red walls, a black celeing and a flower of every table. You will not be disappointed Pros: Wide Selection, GREAT SERVICE, Owners are social more

Uptown restaurants are the BEST!! 12/29/2005

I love the Uptown area and going out to dinner at the fabulous restaurants. My two favorites are Vino 610 and JPs. I love the atmosphere and the diverse group of people in the area. Vino 610 is the place to go for Wine lovers and romantic nights out. Pros: Unique, Local Owners, All people welcome more

uptown rocks my socks 7/23/2003

i went to uptown for the first time a week ago. it was worth the drive. the ragstock on w. lake was so much better than the one in mall of america. it was a tighter space but had more interesting clothes. tatters was amazingly great. they even had bowling shoes. lava lounge was too expensive and the clothes were horrible. urban outfitters was a bit high in price but great just the same. the people who worked there could've been a little nicer. don't know why there was a Gap... overall, it's a cool place to spend a day walking around...just make sure you park in a place the meters don't just last for 15 minutes... Pros: shopping, people, mostly inexpensive Cons: PARKING!! more

Fun to go but not to shop 2/6/2003

I love Uptown. I love the people watching and the lakes. I like to walk in the neighborhoods. If I want to buy stuff though, I'll stick with the malls. These shops are not the funky artsy-farsty shops they used to be. They've become ""mallized"" and they've upped their prices to match what they think the market will bear in Uptown. Got news for them. They've gone too high. Shops are shutting down. Sales are down. Look at what happened to Calhoun Square. almost dead. Pros: People watching, neighborhood, bike trail Cons: prices, prices, prices more

Uptown rocks! 12/31/2002

I love hanging out in uptown. I just moved there this summer and it's my favorite place to be. You have the lakes and some really cool restaurants and bars. Old Chicago has the best happy hour and Chino Latino has the best night life. more

I love uptown. 8/9/2002

Uptown is an interesting place to visit. However, there's only a certain section that's very busy and that's the intersection of Lake and Hennepin. Most shops are around that area also. It's nice for a few hours, but after awhile you'll need to move on to another place. This is most definitely not a typical family outing kind of place. Pros: Funky shops, Unique restaurants, hopping area Cons: PARKING, spread out, limited activities more

Every cliche used to describe Uptown is accurate. My affections for the neighborhood lie in its eclectic population. Pros: The Crowd, Dining, Theater Cons: The Crowd, Parking more

Pierced body parts and colorful hairdos 8/2/2002

Just go. And stay more on the Lyndale end of things. It's far more interesting. more
