Great School, Great Campus 11/27/2005

Okay, so its not in the best neighborhood, but the campus is absolutely beautiful. I have spent all day wandering around the grounds. Heritage hall, where you can see all the heisman trophies USC football players have won, is not something you'd want to miss. The bookstore is also a lot nicer than most bookstores at schools. My favorite part among all the buildings is the gargoyle that is thumbing his nose at USC rival UCLA. I'm not sure what building it's on, but its always a good laugh. The school is great too, as I have a lot of friends and family that went there and are doing great in their current careers. more

Not just a football team 8/7/2005

Don't judge a school by its undergrads, or else you'll think USC is an idiot fraternity of shallow fools. I was at a local gym once wearing my UCLA shorts. I left and didn't notice anything as I drove away. 10 blocks away as I was stopped at a light, another car pulled up next to me. When the light turned green, the car tore away just as the guy inside yelled at me, "USC, m*ther******!" USC is actually full of great professors, good research, excellent professional schools, and the largest population of international students of any university in the US. The administration does quite a bit to reach out to students from the inner city, and is the largest employer in the area the school is in (South Central LA). For these reasons, USC should be forgiven for the hubris and excess of its undergrads. more

Wonderful school 7/28/2005

Though I never attended this university, I have been here often and it is an absolutely gorgeous and exquisitie campus. Compared to the enormous behemoth that is UCLA, USC is a wonderful and quaint little populace of buildings that are not a day's walking distance apart. The student body is bright and highly involved. School spirit here is at an amazing level. And their football team rocks! The only downside? You need money to go here. Lots of it. more
