Thrifty Car Rental

This was quite honestly the worst travel experience I have ever had. The car I "ordered" was supposed to be comparable to a Sebring- the one I got was equivalent to a windup toy. Be sure to understand that if you have any problems with the vehicle that this location is independently owned- so you cannot just go to another Thrifty for assistance. My mom and I rented the car in Omaha and drove north to Sioux Falls, SD. We then traveled 70 miles west to Mitchell, SD. On the way back to Sioux Falls the front tire blew. We were told to put the donut on and drive back to Walmart in Sioux Falls (60 miles) and to get a new tire at our expense. Besides the obvious poor understanding that a donut is not intended to be driven that distance the entire burden of the situation was put on us with little compassion or care. The tech's impression after looking at the tire was that there was NO puncture damage (We didn't drive over a nail or run over a curb) and that the interior of the tire looked to b more

I found the staff friendly and helpful. \r \r Although, it was not the size vehicle I reserved, I was not charged extra for the larger car.\r \r When I turned in my rental car - it looked fine. The attendant and I walked around the vehicle and the attendant drove it off. \r \r 3 weeks later I got a bill for $3200 for hail damage! It was a beautiful sunny day when I turned in my car. The morning that I turned in the car, I drove it to the cemetery. Several people commented on the car as it was an unusual model. No one noticed hail damage. \r \r I supposed it could have gotten some hail damage on it, but I am very suspect. \r \r I have inquired and no one has heard of this company being dishonest. I personally will not rent from them again. more
