When they say that they use Q-tips, they really mean it! Every little vent and gauge and dial is dust free and looks like the day I first bought it! My Vetter sparkles on the outside, too. It really is deep and wet and the swirls really are gone. I have tried so many other places, but they can't compare to Autoshine. Pros: they exceeded my expectations more

These folks have been taking care of my cars and trucks for over 20 years and I can never say enough about how great my vehicles look. After letting George andhis crew maintain them through the years they are easier to sell when it is time to sell or trade and I get more than book price for them every time. My wife says that she wishes that they could do our house. Pros: consistant and professional more

My last couple of details with George were horrible; left over wax, missed spots and my latest experience includes damage to my car! While buffing, he stripped off one of my emblems. He said he would replace it and after 2 months and several calls to him he kept blowing me off until I finally gave up. The sad part is, I've been going to him since 98. So much for customer loyalty! I mean my Mercedes looks better than it did the day that I bought it. The shine is so deep and wet and the swirls are gone. Couldn't get them to tell me the secret. My interior looks awesome, as well. Every crevice is dust free. The leather even seems to smell more ""leathery"". They are close to the arboretum, so I just had them run me down to do some shopping while I waited. I've been doing my own car for years because I had given up trying to find a detail shop that could do it the way that I wanted and tried Autoshine because a friend recommended them. Now I will, too! I was very disappointed about the quality of work I received for the amount of money I paid ($219usd)\r \r 1. Insect guts still on grill and headlamps.\r 2. All windows had fingerprints and a film that showed up at night time(made visiblity difficult)\r 3. Console had a smeared film and there was dust on my CD player (obviously no Q-tip used here)\r 4. Wax in all body seems.\r 5. Car emblem dirty and had collected wax.\r 6. Outside mirrors had water spots and not clean around edges\r 7. Inside mirrors looked as though they were never cleaned.\r \r Now you may say I am being picky but if you are call yourself a ""detail"" company and tell your customers that your car will look like new again, then you should produce what you claim you will. \r \r My husband was a detailer in his youth and said this was really bad work.\r \r I do not recommend this company at all. You will get cheated. You will get quoted $219.95, you will get an internet coupon for $20 off, you will get a call from George Harlan telling you that your car has tree sap on it and it will cost you $20 dollars more to use clay to remove it. I was worried! My 3 month old Mercedes was drenched because I left my windows down and my sunroof open. Not only did they take care of the water problem and the risk of future mildew, they made my interior look just like it did the day I got my new car. What a life saver! These guys really get into what they're doing. ""Ryan"" was so informative about the process before they started. They even showed me how to take care of my car in between details. My paint is deep and about as close to perfect as I can imagine. The interior is amazing. Must be those q-tips that they keep above the ear instead of a pencil! I visited Autoshine on Jollyville Rd. and noticed the strange review on city search this morning and felt compelled to set the record straight. Washing a car for a living is about one step below tarring a drive-way since it takes less skill. Paying many times more than a trip to Genie it should look better and last longer. The positive reviews here are posted by this guy himself to try to raise his own ratings. He's working out of his house, not an actual place of business. He's had to move around and change the name every few years to avoid all the bad reviews. In fact Better Business B. gives them a poor rating (F, the worst). Checking his background uncovers a number of DUI/DWI, and other nasty stuff you'd expect from a con man or carny. Would you trust a drunk to drive your car? Cons: never again. more

Old time customer service from start to finish. They picked my car up at my office (on time), detailed it to perfection and returned to my office (on time). They just don't miss a thing. They really are the Q-tip guys. My car is black and was pretty swirly. Autoshine removed the swirls, polished my Toyota until it truly looked better than it did the day I bought it. This company and owner has lied to me several times. He just walked away with the money my boyfriend gave him for a Gift Certificate.\r \r I was given a gift certificate from Autoshine for ""one complete Autoshine package"" that was delivered to my place of work by Mr. Harlan. I had to schedule 4 appointments with them and here's how it played out.\r \r 1st appointment - They were scheduled to pick up my truck at 9:00 am. - Never showed or called. When I called I was told that their computers crashed and they thought they had contacted everyone.\r \r 2nd - Reschedule appointment - Mr. Harlan called to cancel due to his mother being in the hospital. (Is no one else there to detail the cars)?\r \r 3rd - Reschedule appointment - This one was my doing - I called to cancel due to having to fly out of state due to a death in the family.\r \r 4th - Rescheduled for a pick up once I was back - No one showed again and NO CALL. - Called MR. Harlan and he told me that he had been out of town and he would look into what was going on with the NO SHOWS. - He then said that he would personally pick up my truck in 2 days and do the cleaning himself.. - WELL HE WAS A NO SHOW AND DID NOT CALL. I went by his place on Renli and It was no longer there. the 512-276-1005 number has been disconnected. Our Toyota Camry was about to be traded in. We had a bad case of new car fever. When Autoshine returned my car I couldn't believe it! It sparkled. We were having it done to get ready to trade it in....but, these guys cured our new car fever. We're keeping now. We have that new car feeling again and without spending all that money. Amazing attention to detail. George and his crew exceded my expectations and I'm very, very particular. My black BMW didn't even look this good when it was new. No swirls! The finish is deep and wet! The interior not only is spotfree, but they don't use that glossy goopy stuff that other shop have put on my plastic and leather. I recommend them to anyone. I've search for a true detail shop for years and now that I've found them I will never go anywhere else. Five big stars! more

You will find this post in every possible place I can put it. George Harlan is as low as they get. I gave my car to him for a full detail inside and out, instead I get a call telling me his guys drove my car without latching my hood down and it'd popped up and broke my windshield. He had one of his guys return it without him even looking at it. He told me his insurance would cover it and apologized up and down- all a lie. Within a a few days he'd stopped returning my calls completely. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS SERVICE. I'm sure they do great work (when they don't damage your car), or I wouldn't have let my car go to them in the first place...but NO person of such LOW caliber should be trusted with your vehicle! \r For anyone who wonders- no address is registered with his shop. One address is a PO box, the other is his home address. Pros: They come get your car..... Cons: They return it to you damaged and then ignore all your calls. more

I've used Autoshine since the 1980's when I first moved to Austin, Our cars and trucks have always been something to show off when we get them back from Autoshine. The friendly pick-up and delivery service just makes it that much more convenient for us now.\r No wonder the car clubs in Austin all use Autoshine before their big car shows.\r Whenever anyone from work rides with me in my car they always comment on how well I keep my cars an comment to each other about how much time I must spend on keeping it so well maintained.\r No other place in Austin is like it and with that old Austin pride in their performance makes you know you got it done right. \r And I've actually seen them use Q Tips when detailing my dashboard. I've read some of the negative comments left by some of the others and couldn't believe we were talking about the same place. I took my car to Autoshine last July and they did a wonderful job. In fact, I took in with me a ""paint pen"" that I bought and they used it and patched up all the little scatches, etc. The inside looked and smelled new again and the engine looked great. (In fact, the last time I took it to the dealership for service, they commented on how clean the engine still looked and how the shine was still great - my car is a 2006. I informed them that I'd had it detailed and his comment was they did a great job.) The only thing I would like to see changed is they do not take credit cards. I do not carry a check book and when I picked up my car, I was told me they only took cash or checks ( I guess I should have asked before dropping it off). But they let me take my car to go get cash, so it worked out fine. I could not be more pleased with the job they did and have decided that I will continue to take my car to Autoshine each year to keep it looking and smelling like new.
