I have been to Thurman's before and have had to wait for a while-something you just have to expect-but once we were sat, it all went downhill. We were sat before two other tables...

Big as your head burgers 1/2/2003

Absolutely the best burger ever. Make sure to go all the way and get the ""Thurman"" burger. Where else can you get a salad and a ham sandwich along with your burger all mixed in? Highly recommended. Pros: Good value Cons: Crowded more

Go for the Burgers 12/27/2002

Everyone I talked to said this place had the best burgers. Guess what, everyone was right! Make sure you come hungry, and don't even bother with a side of fries, because these 3/4lb monstrosities will fill just about anyone up. I recommend the Thurman burger, the blue cheese or the bacon burger. Also, the atmosphere is really eclectic and cool. The downside is this place is tiny. If you go during any normal meal time you are going to wait awhile. There is also very little breathing room and it looked like it would be difficult to seat a party larger than 5-6 comfortably. Big, plump and juicy 12/13/2002

I went down to Thurmans on a recommendation by a friend and was absolutley amazed. The burgers are so big I had to cut it in half just to hold it, and I still had trouble taking a bite out of it. All of the toppings were fresh, and the onion rings were the biggest and tastiest I had ever had. One downfall-there is not much seating. But the service is quick so table turnover is relatively quick. The staff is very friendly, and like most of the best restaurants in Cols, it is located in German Village, a beautiful part of town. more

Not only is this the best buger that you will ever eat, there is alot of it too, the buger is the size of the plate it is served of, and it comes with wonderful homemade potato chips! more

Best by a long shot 9/27/2002

No question!!!! Thurmans has the best burgers in Columbus hands down. The portions are huge and the taste is outstanding. Get one to share or if you are feeling daring try to tackle one yourself. I also recommend the wings!!! If you go after an OSU game be prepared to wait, but you will not be upset after dining!! more

well, ok - Allllmost. Thurman's has THE best hamburgers in the city. Bar none. The wait can be a bit much & they don't take reservations. Make sure to bring quarters or singles to feed the jukebox/play pinball. TRUST ME - the wait is WELL worth the food. And the prices are great - I'd have expected to pay twice as much for so much food. INCREDIBLE! more

My husband and I have visited Thurman Cafe many times in the past few years and have never been disappointed in the food. The Thurman Burger, which is huge, is excellent. We also enjoy their hot wings but can rarely finish them at the restaurant because they give you so many and they are very meaty! Pros: Great food, Fun Place Cons: Parking, number of tables more

My Kingdom for a Thurman's Burger 7/23/2002

Such a variety of burgers greet the eater that it is hard to decide which one to choose. The burgers are cooked to perfection according to the wishes of the customer. Service is very good and the atmosphere interesting (old license plates, posters, etc). The steak fries and onion ring portions are quite generous...! more

Wings I'd drive 1200 miles for 6/11/2002

I now live in Florida and sometimes am amazed how I can crave food 1200 miles away. But such is the case with Thurmans wings.....makes me wanna buy a round trip ticket today!!!! more

There are no words adequate to describe the Thurman burger. When it arrives at your place, the word ""hamburger"" no longer seems adequate to describe anything of its size or splendor. Possibly the hugest feasible burger the world has yet seen -- and yet surprisingly tasty, too. It's not just a meal, it's an adventure. There are other dishes available here, I'm told, but I've never had any. more
