I have been to Thurman's before and have had to wait for a while-something you just have to expect-but once we were sat, it all went downhill. We were sat before two other tables...

We would definitely go more often if there wasn't such a wait. Even at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon we were waiting for nearly 40 mins. Parking is also a pain. We have experienced extremely good service and also unbelievably bad. There is one guy in particular who clearly does not give a rat's rear. That said, the burgers are legendary - and rightly so. Enormous, flavorsome, juicy. What more could you want?! Try the deep-fried pickles too! Pros: Superb food., Good atmosphere., Cold beer! Cons: Iffy service., Parking. , Long waits. more

BIGGEST BURGER I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! 8/6/2005

Thurmans is a Great Place to go before a game, after a game, or when there isn't a game. The Burgers are big ( you definately need 2 hands and a very large mouth to eat them) You can dress comfortably and watch a game on TV...and everyone there is Friendly! I suggest you go early if there is a game in town, it does get packed. more

Mushroom Burgers are wonderful!!!!! 7/21/2005

The place is great! Food is wonderful and well priced! The radio isn't blasting in your ears as you talk and the waitress was wonderful. The mushroom burger was cooked just right. I recommend this place anytime! Pros: Great food, Great People, Great Service Cons: none, none, none more

thurman's is an excellent place to go and possibly home to the biggest burger around. not a dried up burger like other chain restaurants... big and juicy and full of flavor. there is a wait... especially in groups of people.. but once in, the food is excellent. service is real... eat your food... enjoy it.. and feel satisfied! i rave about it to all my friends and people i meet. Not the fries! 3/25/2005

A very good burger. Good onion rings. The potato chips are better than the fries and they come with the burgers!! Small and crowded so plan to wait if you come for lunch, or other peak times !! Parking can be a challange too. more

Thurman's Hands Down 3/16/2005

Columbus, you should be able to remember the old Wendy's commercial with the old lady saying, ""Where's the beef?"", well it's not at Wendy's folks, she should have been doing the commercial for Thurman's. If you are looking for the best burger place in the midwest, Thurman's Cafe is your dream come true!!!! I give them a 15 out of 10!!! more

Great - Nay-sayers just don't get it 3/15/2005

The place is kind of rustic, casual, the people I got service from were rough around the edges but certainly not rude. These people aren't there to powder your nose, they're there to serve you one of the very best burgers in the US. I was there on a College Football Saturday, where the visiting teams' garb and I was treated fine, friendly people in front of and behind the bar. There was a long wait, you don't get greeted, you write your name down and slip into the bar to pick up a beer for your wait, but it's a small popular place that's probably better off without pushy snooty people. I'm going back the next time I'm in Columbus Pros: Best Burgers, Good Prices Cons: Long Waits more

RUDE SERVICE!! LONG WAIT!! 2/17/2005

I brought a few co-workers here for an enjoyable meal. This hardly was the case! Not only did we have to wait over 30 minutes to be seated we were not even acknowleged for coming in. Eventually I had to find the manager to see when we were to be seated to find out our name was skipped on the sign in sheet. We were asked to go back and sit in the waiting area for our food to arrive since we had to make our order TO GO due to the long wait. We had to get back to work and couldn't wait any longer. I asked the manager what he could do to make the service better that day and he said NOTHING! The worst service I have ever experienced!! To think they treat customers like this and our money spent there is keeping food in their mouths! more

unpleasant experience 2/16/2005

I have visted thurmans several times, i expect the wait. But my last experience was the worst one of my life i will NEVER recommend anyone going there again and i was embrassed i took co-workers to experience the rude treatment . When did the ratings get so high you can treat your customers so rude!!!!!!! Pros: good food Cons: crowed, bad customer service, bad manager additude more

The Thurman Cafe Is Great. It is hands down the best resturant in the state. It is small and cozy, a nice changeup from your chain restaurants. I know the owners and know that their huge burgers dont contain filler and do not sit in warmers. Trust me the Thurman Cafe is worth your time. Fun Place 8/3/2004

Hamburgers are huge and delicious. Sub sandwiches are also great and highly recommended. Ambiance is very casual and friendly. It has a neighborhood bar feel because that is just what it is. meat meat and more meat 7/8/2004

This is one of the biggest burgers i have ever had but not necessarily the best. The Thurmans burger was highly recommended and thus i had to try it out. Waarning: Order it only if you haven't eaten for the past three days and have a gigantic meat craving. Also the bun almost falls off due to the size of the patty. Not a good place to take a date unless you enjoy being messy with your food. Pros: great ambience more

THURMAN IS THE BEST 6/23/2004

I live more than an hour away from The Thurman Cafe, and yet, I find myself making the trek to German Village several times a month. It's a great place to meet up with friends or to go on a date (but chances are you will get messy). Definitely the best burgers in Ohio! more

This is the place to get the BEST burger in town - and possibly the largest....these things are huge, but always so god, juicy, and made exactly to order, with lots of fresh toppings...and the regulars are great to talk to - just a fun, cheap place to eat. Well worth checking out for the burgers, definitely. more

a need for expansion 12/30/2003

I took my parents here and they said it was the BEST Reuben they had ever had (and they've certainly sampled a few across the nation in their time). My burger was also the best I've ever had and it was so large I could only eat half. They really need to expand this location or open another location somewhere else - because the crowds flock here. I would love to dine here more often, but the crowd/wait time keeps me away. :-( more

The Thurman burger is huge, juicy, and delicious, and is why we first started going to Thurman's. Once we tried the reuben though, we were hooked. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the service friendly. With all they have good to eat...don't forget a pitcher of beer and a big plate of wings!
