great neighborhood theatre 5/31/2008

I love this theatre because you can see all those old movie classics we only saw on tv as kids on the big screen. Comedies, film noir, current documentaries, family films on saturday mornings, its great. For the adults you can even purchase a margarita, beer or cocktail to bring into the show with you! even enjoy a Pros: movie selection, snacks, drinks Cons: little run down but improving more

Best Popcorn in Town!!! 6/25/2003

Yes, I'm a sucker for real butter. I can't help it! And Parkway Theatre indulges me. The theatre itself could use a bit of a facelift (especially the less than desirable bathrooms), but the films they screen and the inexpensive concessions almost make up for the lack of fresh paint. Actually, the atmosphere is perfect for many of the films they've shown: Amores Perros, The Golden Bowl, etc. Good place to see a dark, off-center film. Pros: Good concessions, Art-house feel Cons: Bathrooms need help, Seating not so comfy more

The Anti-Mega Theatre 3/27/2003

If you are looking to escape the mega multi-plex mall theatre, give the Parkway a try. For $7.75 I got popcorn (with real butter), a large drink and admission to a really good movie. Sure the theatre is a little run down and the bathrooms are painted a brown color that bathrooms should never be painted, but the overall experience put a smile on my face. The staff is super friendly and the place screams casual-cool. I feel hipper for having experienced the Parkway. Pros: cheap, real butter, hip Cons: a little worn looking, old school seating, no drink holders more

I LOVE this theater!!!! 1/31/2003

I decided that today I would write a love note about this theater. The management at the Parkway choses top-notch films that are well worth your $6.00. (I haven't been disappointed yet) You won't see a run-of-the-mill, Hollywood movie here...only jems... films that will stay with you for days. If you aren't worried about sitting in a REAL theater, in REAL theater chairs that, yes, leave a bit to be desired in the comfy dept, and eating REAL, REAL good popcorn w/ butter at REAListic prices, this is the theater for you. Plus, I can't bear another film with Tom Cruise in it! Pros: Traditional Theater, Real Butter Popcorn, Exceptional Films ! more
