Best

Overpriced? I read other reviews and I think the grape is right on. Some wines are more expensive if you want to spend the money, but so many GREAT WINES are under $15 a bottle ...

Worst

It's not a bad concept to let folks try wines and then buy the bottle in the shop next door. But OUCH, the wine prices (by the Bottle) are outrageous. I found the same Zolo wine...

Great for girl's night out! 9/22/2009

My girlfriends and I love to go here for our rare ""girl's only"" nights out. Of course, we love to drink wine so it's the perfect spot. Plus, - it's located relatively close for everyone. Pros: Location, atmosphere more

Best Wine Selection 6/9/2008

I was very happy with this grape. They all seem to be different, but this one had the best selection of any I've been to. more

best selection of wine 2/6/2008

Wines of all kinds and menu allows you taste all kinds if you'd like , sophisticated atmosphere, and delicious appetizers! Great place to start a date or build your appetite! Pros: Wine Pro's Cons: Recommend to have dinner elsewhere more

We Love Vining's, But..............! 6/30/2007

We love going over to Vining's, for a little village escape in the busy city. Many very good dining choices here. Many years ago, we used to love to drop by The Grape, for a glass of vino, after a meal. But these days, it has become rather boring, since it has become somewhat of an overpriced chain. Somehow chain wine bars, just don't get it, in Atlanta, with great choices like Ecco, Rathbun's and Vine. It seems rather dated for Vinings, and is not open on Sunday! Pros: Rather Boring Wine Bar Chain! Cons: Too Overpriced! more

Crowded, outrageous wine prices 2/17/2007

It's not a bad concept to let folks try wines and then buy the bottle in the shop next door. But OUCH, the wine prices (by the Bottle) are outrageous. I found the same Zolo wines at the bottle shop down the street for at least $4 less per bottle. more

Overpriced Chain! 10/6/2006

I have enjoyed visiting the various Grape locations around our great city, and am glad I made a trip to this location. I generally do not seek out chain restaurants for dining, and understand why I prefer not to seek out chain wine bars. There is really nothing special about any Grape location that isn't independently owned. This location had a nice staff, but the pours are small and expensive. The patrons were generally snobbish and unfriendly. This location is not open for lunch, or on Sundays. I would suggest visiting independently owned locations especially the one at Atlantic Station! Pros: Beautiful Bar Cons: Hours and days of operation more

best date night and place to go out with group 7/20/2006

Overpriced? I read other reviews and I think the grape is right on. Some wines are more expensive if you want to spend the money, but so many GREAT WINES are under $15 a bottle and they are really good! The place is cozy and full of good energy. They have a cool rating system so you can pick outthe wines you like even if you don't know alot about wine. It is brilliant! The staff is great and the steak sandwhich is to die for! A group of us went there on friday night and stayed there all night and had a great time. Good live music and lots of fun people watching. The vinings location is a great spot to spend a fun night out with excellent wine and great food. I am definitely going back!!!! Pros: atmosphere, food, wine selection more

Love the Grape! 2/1/2006

Went to the Grape for the first time and really liked it. The wine I chose was very good and I would definetely go back if for nothing else than to see that very tall, extremely good looking bartender whose name I didn't get.... more

Overpriced 3/11/2005

Grape is so over priced it is not funny. They give a 5 ounce pour for a glass of wine that is priced more than a full bottle retail. They must attract unuducated beginners. Their servers lack knowledge about the wines offered and they use a childish color coded rating system to try and guide people. Give me a break. I think I will stick to a real restaurant with great wine lists that have people that know what they are talking about, rather than a place with a chain cookie cutter approach. Pros: selection of wines Cons: price, service knowledge, atmosphere more

Excellent 10/4/2004

I love their Saturday afternoon wine tastings. The waitstaff is always excellent and attentive. Their appetizer spreads are wonderful and come to life after a sip of wine. I hosted an afternoon birthday party here and the staff did a wonderful job of seamlessly setting up the wine tasting for a larger group and proactively separating the bills for the table. This is also a wonderful place to have a glass of wine before catching a show at the Vinings area movie theater. The location is perfect in the cobblestone Vinings Village away from traffic. Pros: Wine Selection, Atmosphere, Staff more

Great Food, ok wine 10/2/2003

The setting is nice and the food is very good. However, the wine is overpriced considering their list. Maybe if this were Manhattan would I expect those prices....but this ain't no NYC. Pros: Food, Ambiance Cons: Value more

Cozy 1/17/2003

Great little place! I visited the Grape in the summer....the patio was great. Appetizers were tasty. The bar inside is cozy. I love places like this that are very unassuming but are great treasures once discovered! Pros: modern design, patio, easy access off 285 Cons: small place, easily crowded more

This juice IS worth the squeeze! 10/3/2002

Since The Grape opened it has offered me a ""cheers-friendly"" atmosphere and great wine finds. The sophisticated atmosphere belies the great pricing and European stlye bistro food. I don't have to fly to France or Italy to eat and drink the best there is!! It's in Vinings!! No passport needed! Thanks to Jack, Robert, Jeff & The Gang!! Pros: Best wine selections, Great prices, Knowledgable staff Cons: Limited seating, not open Sunday more

Vinings Barry White! 9/26/2002

Manuel provides an awesome environment to sit and enjoy wine or have a great date experience. We've found our own Vinings Barry White! Pros: setting, entertainment Cons: price per glass more

Outstanding! 9/21/2002

Taste is all that matters. Non intimidating..catchy..smart. Over 120 wines to sample from...a wonderful selection. Warm, friendly atmosphere w/great jazz. Excellent food...Muffalata is to die for! Pros: Value, Secure, Fun more

suchagrapeplae 9/20/2002

I have to tell any and everyone this is a great place to frequent. I entertain out of town guest here and they love it. Greta place to sit with a date or have a small bday party as we recently did. Never have had an issue with quality, service, cleanliness. As far as meeting people there, not really that type place but don't discount it either. Pretty place and the patio is great for the summer night drinking under the stars. Pros: large wine selection, server knowledge, good food Cons: early weekday close more

The best! 9/13/2002

The best wines, and the food is consistently good. Good service and the music is varied. more

Outstanding for all wine drinkers 8/31/2002

It doesn't matter whether you're a novice or a wine connoisseur, The Grape is an outstanding, friendly venue to sit back, have some wine, a little bit of food, and enjoy the music on weekend nights. It's definitely worth the trip from downtown/midtown Atlanta. Pros: service, variety, wine tastings more

Non fare il gufo!!! Andiamo a The Grape! 8/28/2002

Which means, ""Don't be a misery! Let's go to The Grape!"" So tell all your Italian friends and everyone else, too. There's a mad cool enoteca in town. Lovely people and fine wine. What else could you want? more

~~~Perfection~~~ 8/15/2002
Great food, even better wine, and the friendly staff are a few reasons why The Grape is my favorite place for eating and drinking. I've been going there regularly for about 6 months, and every visit has been a good experience. This is one restaurant where I've never felt like I was being rushed out the door; they really let you relax and take your time. If you're looking for a Buckhead/Midtown meat-market kind of place (not that there's anything wrong with that), then The Grape is not for you, but if you're into wonderful wine and food in a laid-back and comfortable atmosphere, you'll love it. Pros: variety of wine, relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable staff Cons: closed on Sundays more
