This was the worst food I have ever received. Felt like I was eating something out of the frozen food section at Target. Also, took over an hour to receive my food. I have not been that disappointed with a food purchase ever in my life. more

i was so disappointed in this food i can't even begin to start! the food came earlier than expected, but was cold, tasteless, and dry! the chicken had no taste, the bbq sauce was more watery than a normal sauce, the cornbread was burned, even the cheesecake edge was burned, the macaroni and cheese was clearly from a box, and the stuffing tasted like pieces of white bread drenched in a nasty watery gravy. this food tasted disgusting and i will never order from them again! making quality food should be the goal! ugh! more

Everything was good that I ordered especially their ribs omg slamming! Must have w/ their BBQ sauce. Amazing! more

I have been to this restaurant only four times since 2004 and it is usually empty. I was there today b/c I wonder if it is b/c of the place or is it b/c of the food. I have not enjoyed the food and never seen more than four tables full at one time, The food has never seemed fresh and the place has gone down hill. For example, the lighting dull, lack of staff and the water tasted like pipe water outside NYC.I told my husband this was my last time there no matter how much their menu sounded appetizing. Unfortunately, this neighborhood needs a restaurant where the food is not expensive nor fried and these are two things Barbecue Pit does offer. more

This place has the best barbecue chicken. It is very inexpensive. My family and I have been going here for years. We also order from them whenever we have parties. This place is never a let down! more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Riverdale. This is a very family friendly place with good take out service. Not a place for ambience, but excellent home cooking. Of course, this is a place for meat lovers, and the best plates involve ribs and barbecued chicken. Many of the dishes are prepared with Indian spices, but nothing is too overwhelming. Also recommended are the Mediterranean platters, burgers, fried catfish, and the pies. The chef / owner is quite friendly and is often willing to cook to order. Service is generally, but not always speedy. That of course depends on how busy the place is. While parking is tough in front of the BBQ Pit, it is easy to find spaces a little up the hill on the side streets. Pros: food Cons: parking more

The food here is to die for. Everything from the Ribs, Chicken to the Salmon. I would recomend them 100 percent. more
